Forgot to post about this (thanks for the reminder, dbcooper), but it's obviously right up all our alleys: The RPM Challenge -- coming up with a whole album (defined as ten tracks, 35 minutes) in twenty-eight days. Sign up, go wild.

Well, I've written 4 songs already, so I have a start, the problem is finding someone to play with me. I suppose I could just use my autoharp, but a capella just ain't gonna wash with a couple of my songs. I've always wanted to do this, so I should...

Is there some significance to the 28 days? Perhaps a girl could tell me...

Or, perhaps a black person could say that songwriters are given the same short shrift that Black History Month has.

Never mind, I've just gone ten hours with a weatherman reporting on storms as frantically as if this was the last day he'd be allowed to perform before the public.

You're all so cute. ;) No, I'm not getting involved. I'm trying to work on this week's already-late iTom song. This kinda challenge, exactly like Write A Novel Month, is great for springboarding people who have always wanted to do this sort of thing, or who wish to challenge themselves. I started challenging myself back in August, and so far I've got two albums out of it. I don't need the RPM Challenge....

I don't need a springboard, I just need a kick in the ass, which is what I'm hoping The FuMP will provide. In February it will have been three years since the last full-on new Worm Quartet album. Granted in that time I've had a kid, bought a house, and changed jobs twice. But still, THREE FRIGGIN' YEARS.
