Too damn much crap going on in the world right now. Too many people saying and doing the stupidest, most obnoxious things. Too many people making other peoples' lives miserable for no good reason.

Let's celebrate our better natures.

Who are the best people in your world right now, the most helpful and caring? Mine, without question, are the two you'd likely expect -- Anne and Leslie. With them I share laughs, I share troubles, I share joy and sorrow and pain and friendship and recipes and punch lines and callbacks. I can never, ever repay either of them a thousandth of what they do for me, which doesn't mean I'm not gonna give it a damn good shot.

So who's your Best Person In The World?

My wife, [livejournal.com profile] lyrapuppy, a hundred times over. She puts up with all my shit. ;)
Also, my best friend Megann, partially for putting up with my mother for two years and staying friends with her children after they broke up.

John. Most especially now that he's learning to listen to me, offer a bit of advice and then remain not involved with it.

Tami. Because I have a manager who is willing to let me bed and flex to find a way to my allergy shots and other various appointments into my life.

Karen. Because we have a CEO who is willing to stand behind and stand up for what she believes in. We are in on of the biggest real estate slumps ever but even with our membership dropping we're still going to fight the FTC because we know we're right.

My parents. Because they do so much for me and have done their best to not push me into or out of anything.

Anyone who can hand me a cure for my migraines. I can't tell you how tired I am of feeling like my brains are going to explode.

Phaed, without a doubt, is at the top of the list. I couldn't ask for a better husband.

After that, my online gaming buddies, especially Richard, Sammi, Kat, Andy, Carol, and ... heck, I'm going to forget someone.

Gene, my first love and the only person who ever really understood me. Too bad he's married to someone else now. But having him for a best friend and confidant still rocks my world.

My parents and brother, who have been an unfailing source of strength and support during my divorce and after. They rose to the occasion in a way that shamed my low expectations; I was expecting "I told you so" and cool attitude.

My husband, [livejournal.com profile] hanabishirecca. He's my perfect complement, can make me smile no matter how crappy I feel, makes me feel wanted and loved (something no other human being on earth has accomplished), and he's smart and talented, too.

My old college roommate, [livejournal.com profile] kkatowll also ranks really high up there. She's the one who introduced me to filk in the first place. She, too, is very smart and capable, and she's going to be a famous journalist someday. The worst part about living in Asheville is that we can't visit one another.

[livejournal.com profile] singing_phoenix, beyond any doubt. Not only for me, not only for people across this great land of ours, but even for people halfway around the world that she's never even met...as she's about to prove by going there and working for two solid years.

Best Ever? My husband, hands down, for so many reasons my tongue tangles trying to find words for them all. But then there's a reason we've been married for 19 years and still get mistaken for newlyweds. :)

Other than my husband? My chosen family keeps my world spinning on its axis. They know who they are.

My husband, who puts up will me ("I'll tell you when I'm putting up with you" he always says) and rubs my feet.

My sister, who's always there for me, no matter what.

Tsvete, the one employee I never have to tell anything to (it's like she reads my mind... "Hey Tsvete, can you... oh, you did it already".)

My best person

I'm pretty lucky he's in my life. :)

Gee, that's tough. The only person whom I feel I can confide in is my cleaning lady. She's been without a job for over 2 1/2 years, is dependent on doing house cleaning and dog walking for walking-around money, and frankly is dependent on me for occasional meals. And she's also prone to depression (from brain chemistry in addition to her work situation) and I have to be careful what I confide to her. But at least she doesn't turn up her nose or laugh hysterically when I tell her my troubles. And I'm grateful for at least that much.

Dale, hands down, for all the same reasons everyone else has given for their spouses.

In general, my co-workers, for being cool and sharing information and knowledge.
