Another blow for fat acceptance: I've been crushing on Tom Smith for years. Fat has nothing to do with it. I'm in love with his BRAIN. No chance of anything happening, of course, I think he's got a S.O. and I know he lives 2000 miles away. Just saying.

I thank you very kindly, sweetie. One of the most gratifying and amazing things in my life is the fact that you are not alone. Which really boggles me, as [a] there were times in my life when I was young and skinny and convinced I would never meet a girl ever and [b] two different women close to me said I was too fat for them when I was below 230.

I've never been completely happy with my physical form, even when I was in tip-top not-kidding-around washboard-abs shape, and I always hoped I would be accepted and even possibly liked for the person I was... or at least the person I wanted to be. I like to think that, finally, that's kinda workin' out all right. :)

Yeah, me too. It's not vanity, it's longevity. Found out, in the course of garnering as much information as I could get, that a good scare from a couple of months ago has cousins that are dramatically exacerbated by being overweight. Since I want to live about another 50 years, I'm working on it. But Joy looks just fine to me - and so do I.
