Would have been nice if the guy had included song information, but nothing's perfect.

Knowing YouTube, this will merely start a rash of poseurs attempting to pass themselves off as you. It'll turn into some rap-filk war, with someone saying, "I'm the Tom Smith, the Real Tom Smith, all you other Tom Smiths are just perpetrating," and then someone will respond, "Will the real Tom Smith please stand up? Please stand up? Please stand up?"

... Having now exhausted my knowledge of Eminem, I'll just say, "Good idea," and leave it at that.

Is cool. As I have a YouTube account, it's got "filkertom" with it, so if they click on that they'll go right to me. :)

There's at least one picture that's not particularly safe for work (or kids) too.

Are you kiddin'? Go for it. It's already half-viral. :) We actually found someone who hates the song, which in these heady Intertube days is a mark of serious success.

I assume you've seen Froud's pressed faerie book? It's quite good. Here's a little summary.

Saw it years ago. Wasn't thinking of it when I wrote the new one, but I do remember it fondly.

Oooh! Several moments of extreme glee, especially since I never managed to listen to the song after I downloaded it...

I did "Cat Macros" at Studio Joe tonight. My reading was rather ragged, but the audience laughed anyway.

I don't know what is causing the black hole between my email and yours, but the queries I've sent (even using the "contact me" form on your website) don't seem to be getting to your end. I'm serious about wanting to see whether a coffeehouse gig at Studio Joe would be doable on your FenCon trip.

Dunno either. Same ol' filkertom at yahoo dot com. I'll double-check later today. And the gig might be possible; we'll have to talk about it, and see what the schedule looks like....

According to your schedule posted on your website, you're allowing two travel days to get to Dallas.
I don't know what you're planning on as a breakpoint; when I drive to your part of the world it is about the same distance via Nashville, Louisville, and Cincinnati as via Memphis, Effingham, and Indianapolis.

Little Rock is about 6 hours from Dallas, at the junction of I-30 and I-40. So if you added another travel day southbound you could be in LR on Thursday, and then have only a bit over a half day to drive to get to Dallas.

I mentioned in the email that didn't get to you that the hardest part of the project might be finding you a pet-free crash space for Thursday. As far as I know, EVERYone in the Little Rock SF group has cats!

Baymont is closer to Studio Joe.

And I could be wrong about the cats; there's one couple that I'm not sure about. I'll ask around. After all, we've got several months yet.
