That she rocks is a given. But I am not surprised, in that Steve Gilliard had outed her gender previously (though that being the source was something I'd forgotten until a commenter over at FDL mentioned it).
I hope she keeps kicking coccyx for a very, VERY long time.
Watching this though, makes me realize that the misogynist mouth-breathing winger, "I'd hit it" crowd will look at her and see nothing more than a fat chick with double chins, and be unable to hear what she has to say, and will instead wag their fingers at her for daring to speak in public.
Which is good on the one hand... Those of us who know that the outside of a person doesn't determine what's on the inside will listen to her and be informed. And bad on the other, because she will now join those female bloggers who when the wingers can't come up with an argument against her, will threaten her sexually for the crime of breathing while feminine. (An occurance that happens more often than people think.)
I congratulate her for coming out to recieve this reward, and commiserate with her for the sh*tstorm to come.
I agree with Nightmarewriter -- it's only a matter of time before the on-line abuse, harrassment and threats of sexual assault begin for her.
A male's last bastion of debate logic with a woman who dares to disagree with him is "...Well, then I can rape you and scare you away for good! Ha! I win!" And because there is entirely too much proof that men who threaten sexual assault have no problem following through with the real thing, the terrorist tactic works.
I've gotten absolutely foul feedback when I dared to discuss the blatant racism displayed in a certain popular movie -- and it was clear from the "u fucken prick" comments that they thought I was male. I can only imagine how the abuse would have stepped up had they known I was female.
