Obviously, the iTom song is late this week. I'm actually working on three different ones, and I'll have at least one done by Monday morning, and the rest in short order.

Today, though, [livejournal.com profile] huskiebear is hosting me in a house concert. She's been wanting to do this for months, and today was the best day for it. And so I will see a bunch of my best friends, and I can sing as long as I want without worrying about the next panel coming in. ;) And we'll see how the audio ends up....

I'm nervous, though. Funny, huh? I shouldn't be. But I am.

I've also been fighting my computer this morning. Don't like that at all.

How's your weekend?

*blush* My parents have the oddest times of deciding to be worried because they hadn't heard from me and I just now had to tell my father I haven't been home yet. Hopefully he won't ask me next time.

Yes, I know this could cause the world to talk but it's all I'm saying for now. Though I do wish I could go to your concert rather than the concom meeting.

I'm working on the rough draft of my novel. I plan on having the first draft completed and mailed by December 31st. I expect it to be close to 65k words upon completion.

Blissful sleeping in this morning!
Trying to figure out what I already have and still need for going camping next month.
Washing all the floors in the apartment. (Any minute now! Really!)
Toronto & region house filk later this afternoon/evening.
Church choir 'bye-for-the-summer potluck/barbecue tomorrow afternoon.

As early summer weekends go, not bad! ;D

Have a great time at your house concert!

today I catch a train down to Salem, Tomorrow I spend some time on an outing with just me and my parents for the first time in 32 years, and then I arrive for my Birthing From Within Advanced Training...Which is going to be a whole lot more like a rite of passage, than any sort of class/workshop/training.

As I said in my LJ, Electronic Musician magazine had an article this month about redesigning one's studio. Don't ever, ever, ever give me an incentive to do that, because there's always room for improvement in this place - the acoustic environment has always been a disaster, for example.

So I'm busily at work, rethinking the layout and redesigning the wiring of the place. Expect it to be completely different within the next two weeks.

Darned magazine...

Did a trial braid for a wedding after the rehearsal dinner last night. Went to bed about midnight. Got up at 5:30. Drove to a city just outside the far side of town. Braided 6 people for a wedding. Attended the wedding. Am now in the lull between wedding and reception, which will be followed by a ceili.

Whee!

Worked until 9:00pm Friday, then 7:30am-1:00pm Saturday, and again 2:00pm-3:00pm Sunday (yay, oncall during release weekend). I managed to get out of the 5:00pm-6:00pm shift Sunday night, though.

I did 4 hours of yard work for my parents. Due to a lack of communication, they expected me to be there between 10 and 11 AM without telling me this. Saturday is my only sleep-in day and I had been planning all along to go there after I had my lunch (getting there between 1:30 and 2:00). So I only got half of the stuff done and have to now use up all my free time on Sunday as well to finish up there. Hopefully my back will stop hurting before then since right now I feel like I won't be able to climb out of bed once I climb into it tonight.

My first box of CDs arrived from Discmakers yesterday, resulting in a mailing frenzy. Today I had to take 2 cats to the vet for their shots, and do a spot of petsitting (2 dog, 4 cats, 4 tortoises) for a couple friends. So it's been a little hectic.

Conterpoint is where I am this weekend. Sorry I won't be able to hear your house concert, but there's a lot of concerts going on here. Dining with friends, relaxing for a couple days, picking up cool new tunes. Sorely needed respite from the purgatory that is my life these days. (Not even close to being hell -- plenty of people are far, far worse off than me -- but full of uncertainty and anxiety and tiredness. I figure it's a close enough semblance of what purgatory must be like.)

This weekend, I'm tired but overall happy. We just got into our newly bought house and are doing the pre-move-in things (cleaning, treating the wood floors, painting the walls, moving the oven outlet, those kinda things) so that next weekend-ish we can move everything else in and get to some relaxing before cleaning the apartment, heh. So busybusyworkwork, but happy.

Fighting with a creative block, especially annoyed with it because I'd just started playing with a new style in my drawings. And also fighting with a model in Lightwave... Damn geometry isn't behaving.

Other than that, I'm waiting as my special-recipe pot roast bubbles away on the stovetop. Pot roast makes everything better.

Well, I had to redo the podcast and will have to edit all the "er's" and "uh's" out of it, which will take hours and hours of GoldWave editing. Reason for redo: my compatriot Ms. Geek didn't feel she was "up to form," and we wanted to include reviews of Ratatouille and Surf's Up which we didn't do on the original recording.

Also, I switched around the Tom songs we did; dropped "Blue Screen of Death" to put in "Rocket Ride." Michelle had never heard it, and when I played it she gasped.

On the positive side, I finally got the used gas grill I bought to work after putting in new burners. So now I can do more than smoke meat, I can grill it. It'll be fun.

Besides fixing my dad's exhaust on his truck and setting up the G4 so it's sound buffered in the office I was at work on Sunday doing server updates and such.

Oh and I found out that no matter what I do I sound like crap when recorded despite having a good mic, mixer, and digital input. So I'm therefor refraining from singing anything I write...or anything anybody else writes for that matter... :-(

On a lighter note B5 - Lost Tales is pre-ordable via Amazon today. ^_^
