Still trying to wrap my head around the Benoit deaths. Just generally having a blah day physically. I'm sure I'll feel more like blabbing, singing, cleaning, etc., tomorrow. But I think the rest of today is a write-off.

How are you all doing?

I'm tired from too much road tripping this weekend, but doing ok. Going to take the kids swimming tonight and then gonna crash out in a big way.

And I am doing something that I have not had the presence of mind to do for awhile ... I have new songs in the works. Scary stuff indeed

Came home from work early because the roommate's down with a kidney infection. Brought work home and gave up on that quickly because home computer does not process like work computer. Hot as hell outside. Am trying to hunt up something to make for dinner since roomie has a long list of stuff she can't eat...so this day's been a write-off too.

Good news, though...roomie's feeling better and I watched Office Space today. :-)

I just got back from the Network Interview, that's the one with the network reps, the casting director, and the exec producers. In fact, I a capella'd the first verse of "Rich Fantasy Lives" in it.

(For the unaware, I'm a finalist to be a contestant on Beauty And The Geek. I'll know if I've made it in a day or two.)

Good luck. I hope you make it. Also, let me know if you want any recordings of songs you performed at Conterpoint.

chris benoit. professional wrestler.. has been in canada, New Japan wrestling, WCW, and lastly the WWE.

He, his wife, and son were found dead yesterday, and now they're saying it was a murder suicide.
Gods I hope something changes their mind.. Chris was one of the nicest wrestlers I ever met..

As a fellow WWE(WWF) fan of a very long time, and 'knowing' Benoit through his demeanor and character on TV, yeah, I'm still sort've shocked on the evident course of events and the circumstances around his, and his wife and boy's death.

I made my own LJ post, and otherwise, I'm just trying to do the usual things and keep going.

Today went better than yesterday (which means I probably got enough sleep last night, unless the previous 3 days). But things went slow so I have 4 hours of work-at-home stuff to get done tonight so I am ready for tomorrow at the office. Looks like a late night tonight :(

I'm doing okay. Rode my bike about an hours worth this morning, getting groceries. Kind of tired from that. Talked to a friend newly back from Iraq (as in, in the airport, apparently about to go from Maine to New York by way of Texas). Made a start on shovelling out the Brownie's office (all the books are now on bookshelves, and I'm starting the process of sifting through the paper on the floor, working my way to the back of the room). Got filters for the vacuum cleaner. Went to a county-wide meeting about how we're going to set the ten-year strategic plan for the county and reminded them to consider environmental issues. Hopefully I was more persuasive than I remember being. Came home; will soon make dinner.

I wouldn't call the day a write off, but I didn't work on my instrument case, darn it.

Just... *Flails*

This sucks. This Benoit situation just sucks.

I'm thinking, given that the founders of Bob Evans Sausage and Johnsonville Brats both died in the past week (see my posts), that Jimmy Dean should be VERY careful!

I've run to Ann Arbor, done errands and come home. I forgot to stop and pick up the scripts they filled for me and I'm going to put that off until tomorrow because I am not now dressed to go outside. At least I remembered to buy something I can eat to take to work for the potluck tomorrow.

I'm trying to finish up the Con On The Cob CD, The FuMP Volume 3 CD, and Worm Quartet's rerelease of Stupid Video Game Music, which requires finishing a video game.

And tonight I'll be putting coat number 4 on our bedroom which my wife wants painted dark red. That's after 2 coats of tinted primer.

And it's HOT and HUMID here in New Jersey. Things don't smell good.

It's a compilation CD the convention is putting together to help offset the costs of the artists coming out to perform. The CD is called Earpicac and features a bunch of stuff that's currently not avaialble anywhere else (including a new Tom Smith song and a new Sudden Death song). They've started taking pre-orders already. Planned release date is July 1st, give or take a day or two as we finish up some last minute things.

All the info is here:
http://www.cononthecob.com/cme.htm

Scroll down about 2 page lengths for info on the CD.

You asked!

The Good: I'm writing again (fiction and music, available seperately, not sold in stores....)

The Bad: Paradice Net (and all the services/stuff on my server) has been down since June 14th. Lost a lot of traction, and some Wikipedia articles about my site have been pulled due to broken link. Additionally, I'm requesting a $1300 reduction in early termination fees.

The Ugly: I can't go to Dragon*Con because the Army said 'no.'

Still reeling from the Woverine's death... I just don't get it. He seemed to have it all (fame, fortune, beautiful wife, kid, respect, adoration, etc)... I hope the police find out the one thing he was missing and maybe make some sense out of this.

Recovering from ApolloCon. :-)

Here's a throwaway line from a conversation elseNet that just has to have a filk in it, but I'm not enough of a Dr. Who fan to write it:

"Talkin' 'bout my regeneration..."

You did ask, right? We moved into a larger space (apt-house) only to find that there were several "fine print" fees in our "upgraded contract" on the apt that no one informed us about when the complex was sold to a new management on the west coast (please note we are east coast). Furthermore, as per our moving expenses, we are unable to dispute this in court because we can't afford a lawyer and don't have time to track down someone willing to go pro bono. Meanwhile, there's less closet and cabinet space in our new home. Thus tons of things have yet to be hauled up to the attic and I am continuing life among the boxes as of last Saturday. On the up side, I'll be playing gigs again soon with my mom's rocker fiance on the bar circuit and may have a new job soon with benefits. Woo-hoo! Life gives and it takes. Too bad Benoit didn't see it that way mew. Maybe his wife and son would still be alive. That whoe thing is a tragedy mew. Count your blessings mew! ^ ^

Today's newspaper called the deaths "murder-suicide" and put it down to 'roid rage. Not sure how true that is.

Off the subject - I was at the home of a friend who was watching "Matilda". One of the baddies was a super-strong, super-bulked-up woman with a nasty temper, who wore a sweatshirt saying "1972 Olympics". I came in in the middle and asked about her. The circle told me "Her? 'roid rage."

I don't follow wrestling at all. So I'm afraid I can't work up a head of grief over yet another fucking prick ("oh, but he played such a nice guy on TV!") who decides that his property -- his wife and children -- don't deserve to live without him when he chooses to end it all.

According to YahooNews today, he had a mentally disabled son. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070627/ap_on_re_us/wrestler_dead

And steroids were found in his place.
