Not safe for work. Or anyone, really. And this is the inaugural post for a new tag: "Oh, Japan".

Thanks, I think, to [personal profile] huskiebear.

It is my sincere and fond hope that that is the tell, the signal letting us know that the whole thing is way the fuck over-the-top satire. As in, if the Zucker Bros. -- or maybe the Farrelly Bros. -- were making a Tarantino flick.

As if the rest of the trailer is more plausible.

Fried Shrimp!

(...)

Definitely not safe for anyone.

Of course you know this means I need to find the movie and get friends together for a complete riff of it now.

Wow.

It appears to be related to the movie Machine Girl (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1050160/), which is sitting on the shelf in the next room. I grabbed it at Best Buy one day off the ultra-cheap rack ($3 or $4 if IIRC) I think I need to move it up the queue. ^_^

I wish I could say that I didn't believe that this was a legit movie trailer. I really wish that I could. Having grown up on Godzilla movies and bad kaiju movies (like Inframan, which as awesome but cheesetastic)and other weird movies, I can honestly say that I think it's a real movie.

I don't know whether to rejoice at the campiness of it all or weep that we didn't think of it first. ;)

At first I was going to giddily show this to some friends because it's just so amazingly over the top and ridiculous. But then there was the sword-to-the crotch shot and... eugh. No, I couldn't.

Otherwise, this is just such an insane movie that it would normally MUST be seen!

Have you seen Machine Girl? This one's by the same director, I believe. I've only seen the trailer, but my boyfriend and some of his friends watched it during a Bad Movie Night. The best way to describe both Machine Girl and RoboGeisha is: hilariously bad. Whether or not that was exactly the director's intention, however, I'm not sure.

I followed a link on MSN this morning, that read "'Bagel Head' trend in Japan". And I found this. WARNING: Not for the squeamish.
