First things first. Everybody in the Twin Cities area okay? I saw jss1113 is okay, and a few of the dementia artists such as DJ Particle. Josh also linked up to the OK List. Anyone else out there who hasn't checked in yet?
The MN SF community, mnstf, has a thread for folks in fandom to check in, and the original poster is maintaining a pseudoalphabetical list of folks in the posting body.
I'm trying to get MPLS resident and next year's WorldCon GoH, Lois McMaster Bujold, to answer on her fans' email list. I haven't heard yet but will report when I do.
"Luckily" the death toll appears to be small. "Only" 20 - 50 probable. May the death toll be on that lower end. Sympathies to all who lost love ones or were injured in that tragedy.
Fortunately the toll is significantly lower, so far. I heard 7 confirmed on the news last night, but the Mpls police dept has lowered that number to 4 confirmed. They're sending in diver's now to check out 5 submerged vehicles. Hopefully the inhabitants got out yesterday. We are so thankful that things are no worse than they are and that our friends and loved ones all seem to be OK.
