Having a good time so far. A few bumps, but nothing insurmountable. Good concert, I thought, with a great audience and a gracious extra few minutes from Wild Mercy to do "Rocket Ride". They were also really on today. The bardic last night, with Blind Lemming Chiffon and Mary Crowell, also was lots of fun. I hadn't really heard Mary do her songs before -- almost always accompanying other people up to this point -- and she's really really good.

Lots of other nice people today, including [livejournal.com profile] shsilver, [livejournal.com profile] singlemaltsilk, Peter S. Beagle and his business guy Connor, Ken the roadie, etc., etc., etc., etc. Briefly (very briefly) met Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett, gave them CDs and told them they have to decide who gets what. Nice chances to just hang out with Jamie Hanak, Barry Childs-Helton, Deb and Jen (who also are Munchkin addicts). Les got to a couple panels she enjoyed. Lots of great hall costumers, and a huge frickin' line for the masquerade. Seriously, I think about two thousand people. We got out of there and met one of my old mortgage customers, Marian, and her son Sean, for BBQ at Bandana's -- decent enough -- and spent a couple of hours talking about ever-damn-thing.

All in all, quite a good day. Here's hoping tomorrow is the lovely fresh cherry on top of this pretty fine banana split.

And how's your weekend going?

I've been busily organising stuff, mostly. How's attendance?

I'm genuinely not sure. There don't seem to be all that many people... except that the programming all seems jammed. Weird. I'll see if I can get a head count from [livejournal.com profile] mofilker.

Personally, just fine. Met with some friends from out of town today and rode the Staten Island Ferry -- stayed cool, saw the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island from a not too bad distance (and for free! -- and then went to lunch at a really good place.

Publicly, not so much. Congress is filled with jellyfish who succumbed to FUD (and gave Da Prez expanded spy powers; I haven't seen details, but I think they're derailing FISA, the wimps), and Cheater Bonds hit the home run that allegedly ties him with Hannk Aaron.

(Love the type on Mr. Beagle. It works, really well!)

And how's your weekend going?

Well, my family reunion (which is generally pretty pleasant) is going to have its work cut out for it to beat last weekend, when I made my Dr. Demento debut.

And how's your weekend going?

Relaxing and busy at the same time...

Had a minor headache with my mac (needed to find a bootdisc to do a repair) and the software DVD I had purchased a license to had a bad burn.. (Reburned and fixed the error).

Work had the internet break (again) for about the 5th or 6th time in the past month. (Still partially down)

The good side had about 5 hours of recording done on Kathy Sands' 3rd CD. (Computer songs).

Made plans for the next convention I am attending (Eastern Media Con 1 in Newark, NJ (end of the month)) for recording some songs as live song for the album. I am hoping for a November release date. (To be determined.)

Spent the weekend at Archon, and it was really cool to get to finally meet you in the flesh, and go to one of your concerts. Spent far too much in the dealers' room. ;) Got to tell Jan of the Magic Fingers that our cat Spot (who we adopted from said She of the Magic Fingers) was doing well, and promised to bring pictures to the next con all of us will be at. Driving home, the car occasionally made noises like it did before the timing belt broke, which is worrying us more than a little, but we are home, and the car is still running, so all in all we're five by five. :)

That was Kevin Murphy of MST3K, Rifftrax and The Film Crew fame?

Saw him with Michael J. Nelson and Corbett (I think) at the last Comic-Con I will ever attend. And I just listened to their Rifftrax on "Fantastic Four." Curious experience.

Loved your concert. As always watching the TS virgins groan and laugh at the punchlines was truly entertaining. I'm glad the Richard Hatch thing didn't turn ugly...

Keep up the great filking and see you somewhere down the road.

We lingered over the buffet at the Ponderosa [which even had Brussels sprouts!] & got there late, so the crowd had died down. We found great seats, between 1/2 & 2/3 of the way back. It was a super masquerade, right at half the size of a Worldcon [27 entries].

The number on the Friday newsletter put total attendance just shy of 1,800; I'm not sure if they made it to 2,000 or not.

It was great seeing [& hearing!] you & hanging out.
