Mike Wieringo Dies

Terrible news for comics fans. Comic artist Mike Wieringo, best known for a definitive run with Mark Waid on Fantastic Four and co-creating the character Impulse with Waid for DC, and for just being a really good guy, has passed away suddenly at the age of 44. Hugs and condolences to his family and friends. He was a fantastic talent, and he will be missed.

I saw the news on Twitter of all places. I didn't believe it at first. Still having trouble wrapping my head around it. He didn't know me, but he dedicated a sketch to me on his blog once. I was so thrilled. My memorial is here (http://realtegan.blogspot.com/2007/08/mike-wieringo.html).

Oh no. :( Hadn't seen him in a couple of years, probably last time at Heroes in Charlotte. Such a shame, he was such a nice guy. I'll miss him.
