For you PC musicians using Reaper, the version 2 beta 4 is available for download. If you were thinking of registering but you haven't yet, do it in the next couple of days; registering version 1 gets you a free upgrade to version 2, and the price is supposed to go up as of the 18th.

(If Reaper hasn't been doing it for you, try n-Track or Temper.)

For any and all systems, the OverClocked ReMix team has put together a four-CD remix of the music of Final Fantasy VII.

Any new digital music on your horizon?

Thank you, I just pulled clicked to pull this...

Um, I bought the "Across the Universe" album via I-Tunes..and recalled, after not being able to put it on my MP3 player, why I avoid I-Tunes..still, it's a good soundtrack, imho.

Not on my music making, since I'm still learning what the difference is between the white and black keys, but as long as we're talking...

My friend Richie Hass is currently undergoing bone marrow replacement at the City of Hope. I've already sent him a little "kiddie" keyboard, the Yamaha PSR-225GM keyboard, seen here...

This has the virtue of being able to be disinfected and played in his isolation-ward hospital room so he can keep his chops up, without plugging in; it can run on batteries.

But he really wants a pro keyboard, with real keys and a decent sound, so when he gets well, he can go out and do gigs with all 88 keys and the feel of real keys. I saw a local deal on this keyboard, the Oberheim Eclipse 88, pictured here...

What do you think, guys? Have any of you had experience with one of these? Any advice? Mind you, he isn't wealthy, and I'm trying to get him the best I can scrape together as a Christmas/all 8 days of Chanukah/birthday present.

Does a CD of computer songs count?? I am editing an audio CD for Kathy Sands of computer related songs. (Hopefully a Darkover 2007 (Thanksgiving weekend) release date.)
