I am thankful to be able to walk without a cane or crutches again. Yay! Now I can go build my traditional Canadian thanksgiving igloo and commune with the polar bears over a frosty mug of maple syrup.
I don't have a lot to be thankful for right now...but this whole thread makes me wonder what Canadians do to celebrate Thanksgiving. They can't do turkeys, since those aren't on sale until November. So what is their celebratory dish? Maybe a good meatloaf? Canada's a big wheat producer, so maybe a roasted loaf of bread?
The short version: - being alive after the car crash in September - my wonderful husband [Unknown site tag] - my chosen family of filkers - friends to share turkey with on Sunday - warm purring cats - a terrific international group of colleagues to support each other and share occasional bits of wisdom
