I may try to poke my head in there this weekend, but in the mean time, I'm going to King's island, going to a halloween party, and then watching bad vampire movies and drinking alcohol with friends...not necessarily in that order.
I'll be pulling in with angel_vixen and psywildfire around 8 tonight, assuming traffic isn't too horrendous. Just in time for the Pegasus Nominees concert, if I time it right.
Man, I've been looking forward to this since this time last year...
Pouting because I screwed up going to OVFF AGAIN. (rhymes with pain)
Instead I will be solving mysteries, clothing English Roses in Wicked Rags, Catching up with my brother and his lovely family, celebrating my nephew's 4th birthday (his mom won't let him participate in Halloween for a variety of reasons) and trying to rev up the scary factor on my house!
So it's actually a quiet weekend. Have a Fantastic OVFF!
Saturday night is the local Mensa Halloween party. Otherwise it's all about the project due Thursday that I've not quite half-finished. Tell me again why i returned to school? ;)
I am going to be a lump in my own house and enjoy not going anywhere on my first weekend off in three months. WOOT!!!!
I'll try to catch up with you in the next couple weeks as I get my energy back, because as of this moment I've seen Anne more than I've seen you in the past three months. :)
Well, in the sad news department, I'll be attending a memorial for a friend that passed on back in June. Lots of friends will be there, but this is not the context that you really want to see them in...
But in the good news department, jcw_da_dmg's CD, Simply Entitled (which I produced), was released yesterday, and we're celebrating that all over the map!
I'll be trying to unwind after a long work week and before a long work week (work being the reason I am not there - I couldn't take even the one day off). Hope you and everyone else has much fun!
Tonight, we're going to a see Here Come The Mummies (http://www.herecomethemummies.com/).
Tomorrow, having friends over to go to the Irvington Halloween Festival (http://www.halloweenfest.org/) after which, is the Whoosier Network (http://www.whoosiernetwork.org/) Halloween Party.
Sunday, we're seeing "Stuff Happens (http://www.phoenixtheatre.org/flash.html) at The Phoenix Theater.
I really wanted to go to OVFF but this is just too busy of a weekend for it. Maybe next year.
I usually go, but I'm missing it this year. I've been to two filk cons, neither in the country I live in, this year, so while I'm sad to miss OVFF, I'm hardly deprived. OVFF is always a marathon of driving with a bit of music in the middle for me, anyway. Nothing going on this weekend, but big Halloween party with filking next weekend!
Well, IAn and I are suppose to be there with thekids. However Helena's been in the hospital since yeswterday with a bad asthma attack so I don't kow if we are going to make it. Hopefully at least Ian can go and take Byron. Byron is really looking forward to going. Me, I just hope they let Helena out this evening she'a doing so much better and I want to sleep in a regular bed.
Headed down to Williamsburg for Homecoming at my alma mater (William & Mary). Band concert tonight, parade tomorrow morning (weather permitting), play at the game (in the rain) tomorrow afternoon, Choir concert tomorrow evening. Not hard to tell where my priorities are, eh? (And I was a comp-sci major...)
I'm supremely happy to not only be living close enough to sleep in my own bed and yet go to the con (well, assuming that much sleep occurs) but also that myself and the husband are both gainfully employed which means I get to go to the con and BUY ALBUMS!
Haven't been able to afford it for a couple of years now, between gas prices and Things Going Badly Wrong with my rentals. I hope to be able to get there next year.
Our weekend plans went up in flames. We always go to the mountain town of Julian in late August during the apple season. (In San Diego County). Due to the Witch Fire the town is closed and the fire is heading in the general direction. Part of the town burned in 2003, but the fire crews saved the historic down town area.
We will go and get our raw apple cider sometime later after the fires are out and the town reopens. The timing sucks for Julian, the apple season is a big event for them. Been going there for apples and such since the 60s.
Cleaning up the garden. Giving out trophies at horse races tonight if I feel up to it (the whiplash continues). Moping about not being at OVFF, but I would not have the energy level to enjoy it. Trying to get some much-needed rest. Going to a horse farm tomorrow with salutations. Making music with [Unknown site tag] who did not want the drive to Ohio three years in a row anyway.
I hope to get to a filk con in 2008 prior to FKO but so far my stay-at-home phillip has not agreed to one.
Come to GaFilk. There's a nifty used bookstore within half a mile of the con. I'll drive. I also have both a wheeled crate & a handtruck, so you wouldn't have to carry a thing.
I'm going to do housework in several different forms. I'll be cooking, cleaning, setting up the book shelf I got last week. Plus writing e-mails and redesign my website. On top of that I want to work on an RPG campaign that's not so much hard, but time consuming. I have to make decisions and write them down.
Next week I get my new DVD burner so I have to archive a bunch of stuff to disc to free up hard drive space. Oh and I can't forget looking for a new job. That last one isn't as important because I already have a job and starting a new one so close to the holidays is going to be a mess. On the other hand my current job is very stressful and I'm approaching the point where I can be fired and not care. I won't quit though or actively try to get fired. Unemployment doesn't pay in those cases.
