Usually, I would by now be ensconced in the annual wonderfulness that is MillenniCon. That is not the case this year. However, this is only a one-year lapse -- I'll be back next year. And this year, the con should rock as usual -- Christy, Ruby, Celeste, Pat, and the rest put on a great show -- and, if you're down Cincinnati way, you should give 'em a try.

I will be in Frankenmuth with Anne this weekend, hanging out with the Dorsai at their annual Thing. We'll head up there tomorrow, and it should be most excellent fun with a heapin' helpin' o' fried chicken.

What are your weekend plans?

"Scar Wars" at the Naptown Roller Derby. (http://naptownrollergirls.com/)

Yeah baby!

That's tomorrow. Then on Sunday, I'm cleaning my bathroom.

I know, you can't handle the excitement, can you?

I had planned to sleep for 72 hours, but the family is insisting that I wake so that I can drive us to Lunacon. So I guess I'll go there and see if I still remember how to enjoy a non-filk-specific con :-)

But first, it's tote that barge and lift that bale clean the cats' boxes, fill their food, take out the trash, and generally make it so we can come home to a place that's habitable, Sunday night.

Tomorrow, enjoy my last day of freedom from musical rehearsals. I didn't get a Spring Break per se, since I'm an employee at the University rather than a student, but it did mean my evenings freed up for a while.

Sunday, on the other hand, and pretty much every evening after that until the show's done... whoo boy. But I'm a total junkie for applause, so it'll be worthwhile in the end. =)

I was planning to order Pizza Hut, but the one near my home is closed down. That leaves me with Papa John or *gasp* Dominos.

My weekend will be resting, playing Star Trek Online and City of Heroes. There's a sci-fi club party tomorrow. The parties are OK but more often than not the dominant discussion are a bunch of conservatives bashing liberals so I'm not too enthusiastic to go.

Maybe I'll work on the DucKon site some. Actually it's looking pretty good now. I just need to find some fitting graphics for the corners and track down what content I need and there ya go.

Have a blast at THING! Wish I could be there. Send my love up to everyone!

I'm off to anime with friends tonight, putting my torn ligament foot up, and tomorrow I'll go off with kids in tow to a buddy's to give my DH a bit of a break, and Sunday, I'll be practising playing music with [livejournal.com profile] solomons_pond for Marcon.

Talking of which, do you have a set list in mind for Marcon, so I can practise with your CDs ahead of time in an attempt to keep up?

You know, I don't think I have any.

I do need to finish up and print out the TurboTax thing for Rob now that I finally have enough printer paper.

Basic "chores that need to be done, as they come up" weekend, I think.

After that, if there's any wind and I can't think of anything else, I'm TOTALLY flying my kite. Because it's supposed to be freakin' GORGEOUS this weekend.

My youngest nephew is attending Momocon (http://momocon.moonfruit.com) at Ramblin' Reck University, aka Georgia Tech. Being a mean rotten uncle who never does anything for my nephoo, I arranged for a room for him, a friend of his and myself at a local hotel so that he could stay later and not have to inconvenience his mother (my sister) by having her drive the 40 miles down late at night to pick the two of them up and bring them back in the morning. This way, I get my Hilton Honor points, he stays in town, I make sure he follows the 5-2-1 rule, and he'll hopefully have a good time.

And in between, I have my monthly meeting of the Middle Earth Rocketry Society, hopefully with post-meeting dinner at one of the Ethiopian eateries.

Well, it was another weekend of veg while my husband works, but we were interrupted by a family death (his family's, not mine). So we all get to make the drive down to Mobile.

Not to be rude on such a sad occasion, but I wish we were driving down to Mobile so we could get on another cruise. It was so cold on my last one!
