Nothing dire, but... I don't feel great. Head, stomach, general malaise. I think some of it may be this damn unresolved cry-wolf weather we've had in S.E. Michigan, which has just made the meteorologists look stupid in their CYA-ness -- "Auntie Em! It's a twister! It's a twister! Forty-seven inches of freezing rain! A- an' sleet! An' dustbunnies! 'n' stuff."
I know some of it is based on some old, old emotional baggage that popped up yesterday -- stuff that's long resolved, hadn't thought of it much in years, but for some reason it hit hard.
A little of it has to do with a dental appointment I had this morning -- just X-rays, in anticipation of actual work later, but I'm just not up to dealing with it right now.
And I'm trying to finish my FuMP song for Christmas Day, and Spaff just sent us lyrics to another one which should get us in loads of trouble, and....
But
partiallyclips had a great day yesterday. So did The FuMP. And
cadhla called, always a bright spot. And Anne was determinedly cheery. And my Dad -- my Dad -- was out at midnight Monday night to get his, not the grandkids, not anybody else's, his copy of HP and the Order of the Phoenix, and he called to tell me he was a better HP fan than I was, and who was I to argue with that?
Anyway. Bleah. Thanks for letting me whine a sec. I hope your day is going better...?

Date: 2007-12-12 01:12 pm (UTC)Naw, what are friends for if you can't whine at them now and then. Life out this way is chaotic and challenging at the moment, but working on sorting itself out.
Hang in there.

Date: 2007-12-12 01:28 pm (UTC)But I can't stop, since my finger has started to regain feeling. So I'm going to be dopey at precisely the point in the calendar when I need to be doing things.
As for your problem...I know, I shouldn't prescribe, but maybe some Emerg-N-C might help. At least it should pick you up a bit.

Date: 2007-12-12 04:54 pm (UTC)So far, so good. I reloaded my MP3 player with stuff, and I have a grocery shopping list to tackle during lunch. Weird thing: I *love* grocery shopping.

Date: 2007-12-13 05:29 am (UTC)I discovered today that getting out of this gig I'm escaping next Saturday is perhaps the smartest thing I've ever done. Because until today, I've never seriously considered doing something permanently damaging to myself, and the stress factor today was so high that self-harm was almost starting to seem like a pleasant alternative.
Don't worry, I'm still able to logically understand that it wouldn't really help in any way. But the inclination's never been that strong before. So yeah, bailing=good.
::more hugs:: if it makes you smile at all, my friend Linda at the bookstore and I entertain ourselves when it's slow by tossing lines of your lyrics at each other and playing a variant Name That Tune. I can usually trip her up with something from the middle of 307 Ale or Divine Irregularity, but she's getting wise to me.
