Crap crap crap. Great sadness for comics fans. Legendary artist, inker, and editor Dick Giordano, one of the most influential comics creators of the 1960s, 70s and 80s, has passed away at the age of 77.

If absolutely nothing else, you've likely seen his work on top of Neal Adams' pencils during the groundbreaking run of Green Lantern/Green Arrow written by Denny O'Neill. And he inked Superman Vs. Muhammad Ali. And Superman vs. Spider-Man I. And Crisis on Infinite Earths. And, and, and....

Farewell, Mr. Giordano. Thank you and good afternoon.

I had first editions of both Superman Vs. Muhammad Ali and Superman vs. Spider-Man. And my understanding is that a new edition of Superman Vs. Muhammad Ali is shortly going to be published.

It's sad to note the passing of one of those who "sketched" my years. I remember vividly those intense "pencilings". The world is a little less today.

Well, I can take comfort I'll always have a piece of his art. The Joker tattoo on my shoulder was taken from a Giordano cover of The Joker comic series...

One of the greats, as a creator and as an editor. DC hasn't been the same since he moved on, and he will be that much more sorely missed.

Truely sad news. His artwork was done when I was doing my primary comic reading. I still miss seeing his artwork.

That name sounds very familiar. I think he did some work on "Legion of Super-Heroes", too.

RIP, Dick.
