Home home home. Much better trip back than the trip down, although the internet didn't work at the hotel this morning, so I've got a lot of e-mail to wade through.

Fine time. Many hugs to everyone who was there, and profuse thanks to [livejournal.com profile] bedlamhouse and [livejournal.com profile] ladyat for giving me a concert slot. Grand time, especially just hanging out with friends on Sunday, which is why I went in the first place.

Lots of stuff this week. A couple of things that have to be mailed tomorrow. At least three songs to be recorded by Friday morning, possibly more. More stuff to be written. And ConFusion to get ready for.

How's your week starting out?

Got the car to the body shop, got the estimate, and they've ordered the parts. Insurance company has my statement and the body shop's estimate. I'm carless until at least Friday and possibly Monday.

Oh, and I ate too much dinner (roasted half duckling and wild rice).

I have to tell you that I read that as "(roasted half duckling and wild mice)".

That used to be a Roman delicacy, if I remember my seventh-grade Latin class correctly. But alas no, it was wild rice, as in Uncle Ben's Long Grain And.

Just so you know, I have vid of the entire song you did in the consuite on Sunday. It even has me and the bear dancing in the foreground. :D

Operation Desert Storm.... I caught the end of that and it looked like the room was rocking.

Boston got another foot of snow. I spent the day at home, drinking tea and reading The Fourth Bear.

So, so far, the week is starting out just fine!

I am in Cisco hell...

Been at one of $work's divisions all day setting up a new router and it's moving as fast as a congresscritter towards giving us all our freedoms back.

I have the sinking feeling I'll be here until late in the morning...

Wishing I could have been at the show... It sounds like you had a good time!
Work started out as... well, work. The new commute is icky with too many people trying to escape the corporate campus at the same time, and it's twice as long. I really dislike corporate moves.
Here's hoping the rest of the week improves :)

I started the week by finding out I won't need knee surgery after all.

It's going to be downhill from there... Wednesday through Friday, all-day training. ::snorrrrrre::

Got through the workday, saw the first flurries of snow we've seen all season, though it was gone by noon.

Dentist appointment on Wednesday.

Bought a few new pieces of vinyl, which makes me happy.

We're sort of holding at a draw for the week so far. :-)

Snow day today, got around 9 inches of snow. Was fairly productive working at home but too distracted at times, and I have no human contact on days I don't go into the office. Much as I hate the commute, I am looking forwards to being back in the office tomorrow. And I end the week with a con (Arisia) so that makes this all worth it.

Very well, so far. The first day back at the office after a con just flew by, and I got all of my requested vacation days for the year approved.

Got in Cinimatic Titanic's first release, "The Oozing Skull" and am going to watch it right after I enter this comment.

I finished the first draft of the fifth short story for the book. It needs some serious work in revision, it's rougher starting out than I like. I've got one more to do (an intermediate story in the Titan series) plus a memoirist piece, then it's time to start revising the Urbanagora columns that will be making the move to the non-fiction parts of the book. As far as I can tell, I'm running right on schedule for an April release--I want to have at least an uncorrected proof copy at Kittencon for people to look at.

I had my yearly talk with my shrink and, since Lady Cheron figured out what was wrong with the printer, when she asked what I was doing after I retired I dropped a copy of The Cockroach Fairy into her lap. She was surprised and delighted. I'm experimentally going to try to manipulate my neurotransmitters to make myself a morning person since I seem to work best in the morning and early afternoon when there's no one awake in the main house.

The parts to revise my computer will be here this week. For probably the only time in my life, I was able to afford a top-of-the-line GeForce video card (an overclocked 8800). I've got Tabula Rasa sitting unopened on the desk and have a pre-order reservation for Age of Conan. I'm seriously up for some hard-core gaming once the new box is assembled.

Other than that, just hanging out with the wives. Kitten and I are going to see Cloverfield on Friday. It looks like it's going to be Godzilla meets the Blair Witch Project.

Tom
