Think Progress links to a new chart from the House Democratic Caucus showing in rather stark economic terms the difference between the America left to George W. Bush's tender care and the America we've got now.

I've heard the argument made that each administration gets the economy the previous administration is responsible for. Thus, Clinton's great economy was really the doing of Bush the Elder, and Bush the Younger's crappy economy is (like everything else that's Wrong With America) Clinton's fault.

Of course, this also means the not-exactly-stellar economy that Bush the Elder dealt with was Saint Reagan's doing, and that the economy under Reagan was a legacy of Carter. But strangely enough, that doesn't seem to occur to anyone on the right. [ChurchLady]Isn't that convenient?[/ChurchLady]

So Bush's 2nd term is still his own fault. (The first year, I'll grant. But no more.)

whoa.. if that were true [and I doubt it] then I'd feel really sorry for his successor....
either that, or his third term is going to really stink! [yeah I know about term limits, just not sure he does.]

Dammit, I can't read the text in the small version -- and when I click on the link for a larger image, I get a 404.

Apparently the sax-playing, pot-smoking, womanizing Rhodes scholar was better for us than the crack-smoking, drunk driving, partying C student frat boy. Who knew?
