I'm so looking forward to this season! It's in Chicago, and I know a little preview about one of the guest judges and challenges because it's at one of our favorite restaurants. I can't say anything tho.
Purely out of curiosity: Were you at that restaurant when the TV production crew was (i.e., first hand knowledge), or do you just know that it happened (i.e., second hand knowledge, e.g., someone on staff there let it slip)?
It's second hand knowledge, but from a very good source. The restaurant was closed when the actual filming took place. AFAIK the only people there were the chef and staff (and of course the TV folk - contestants, hosts, crew, etc.).
Some of 'em can't cook under pressure, some aren't inventive (oh, so RUSTIC...) and some can't hack it when transplanted into a real restaurant kitchen under a chef who does it for a living... and to get good scores in all departments makes the one who goes forward from each heat pretty damn special.
