I needed a good LOL today - it's been a rough few days.

Filled out and mailed last week. Too bad I got the short form. I got the short form last time too. When you're part of a religious minority you want to get counted.

Y'know, I didn't think these two could get any cooler after they joined in on our Wayne's World Bohemian Rhapsody sing-a-long at D*Con a while back...but I think they just did. :-)

ETA: I filled out and sent my form back in pronto...I had no choice. My mother works for the Census and my dad did a few turns as a field guy for them...it's almost a family obligation.

There are so many possibilities for "other" I'd say it isn't funny, except it can be. Like if someone answers "Indianapolis 500."

Since our government is not a student of anthropology and confuses race with ethnicity, nationality and even tribal affiliation, my answers to this question vary depending on mood. "East Denverite," "Ashkenazi," "Filker," "Space Alien," or "Repentant Earthling."

I can't adore George any more than I already do- but this takes it over the top!

I love his ad for that TV, too. "Oh, my!"

If you are referring to that "Quadtron" thing, it's marketing BS. The 4th color shouldn't really help much. Especially since the TV signals (both analog and digital) are sent as RGB values. Thus the "yellow" signal has to be generated from the RGB values by some fancy signal processing.

If I hadn't already filled it out and returned it as soon as I got it, I would do it now.

Tom, sorry to post on a completely different subject but there's something I gotta say and your LJ has earned far more traffic than mine.

I got canned today. It sucks but strangely I'm not THAT upset about it. I half expected it, but I thought it was getting better. Long and short of it is this job wasn't a good fit. It was a senior level position and I wasn't ready for it. I thought I was and gave it my best. At least I tried. Once I would have been too scared to even consider a position like that.

Thing is there was little communication. My ex-boss barely spoke to me each day and I was left plodding along. I didn't know for sure what he wanted and he sure as hell didn't tell me how to do it. What I did do, I did well. At least I have that. It's a strange feeling though. I wasn't all that happy to be there so leaving is almost a relief.

Sometimes when you try something new, it doesn't work and I'm OK with that. Tomorrow I get back on that horse and try to find a job that's a better fit.
