Friday's Piratical TV Spot Is Scrubbed

For obvious reasons -- the Northern Illinois University at Dekalb shooting. Besides our frivolity being highly inappropriate after such a terrible event, the local affiliates are certain to have extended coverage. So, thanks to all, but we aren't on TV tomorrow.

Sucks to get bumped, but indeed understandable.

Luckily, the folks I know at NIU are all fine after this afternoon's incident. (I used to live west of Chicago, near DeKalb.)

Well, thanks, and the accepting and dealing are really pretty easy, all things considered... but the decision was made by the station. When Mark Summers ("Cap'n Slappy") heard about the shootings, he predicted that our spot would be scrubbed, and he was right.

People are dead, and their families are grieving. They don't need to see a bunch of guys singing like pirates right now.
