This weekend, MarsCon in Bloomington, MN has an incredible dementia-music track. And, [livejournal.com profile] lukeski tells us how we can all tune in:
The Dementia Radio coverage of MarsCon 2008 begins NOW, because "Blasted Bill" Putt and the Michigan dementia fans are casting live from the Shuttlecraft Windstar as they journey to Chicago to meet up with the Chicago dementia fans and load into the Dementia Fun Bus fleet (the USS Blindwulf and USS Whitehurst) and head up to the Twin Cities for MarsCon!!!

Winamp, Ctrl-L, http://dementiaradio.org:8000 for dialup users, or http://dementiaradio.org:8027 for broadband users. It may be also be possible to use other MP3 players to listen, like ITunes, Real Player, Windows Media Player, Quicktime, or Soniqe.

They'll be casting live from MarsCon all weekend, including the dementia concerts! So tune in all weekend!

Where did you find the listen.pls playlist? I can't seem to find it.

I clicked on the :8027 broadband link, and then on the black page I clicked on "Listen" in the gray band. My Macs and their iTunes did the rest, by downloading the playlist and putting it in the music library and launching it.

Good thing that the Mac mini at work was already squelched with headphones:
Tom "Blared," and my busy office mate Would Not Have Understood -- she's in the middle of moving a whole laboratory from one building to another, and had to borrow my autoclave/liquid nitrogen-proof gloves.

Thanks! Last night I was getting a dead link, but now it's working. Great stuff!

Ah, so that's where the working link is... If anyone involved sees this, the "stream URL" further down the page is incorrect (http://localhost:8027) and should be fixed unless you expect all listeners to already be broadcasting a stream from their own computers.
