A very fine InCon indeed. I thought my concert had a rough start but finished well, and the masquerade was a lot of fun, and the panels were pretty cool, and everybody was very nice as usual, and yeah. I do apologize for not making either of the open filks -- I have been off-and-on sick the past several days, and not getting anywhere near enough sleep, and I simply couldn't do 'em. I'll make it up next time, I promise.

Many hugs and thanks to Ellen, Kat, Lynette, Amy, Emily and the Blood Drive folks, and a whole bunch of people whose names I always forget but they rocked, such as the gent I've known for years and can't remember his name (we were even talking about that phenomenon) who got me Subway last night. Thanks to [personal profile] tollers -- we will do barbecue in Indy sometime, dammit (can you believe it? The barbecue place was closed on July 4th). Hugs to Robin Wood and Mike Z. Williamson and [profile] sazettel. Hugs to Kathy Mar and Juanita Coulson and [profile] min0taur & Sally and [personal profile] tigertoy and Larry and Sally and Shandy Smith and Doug and Christy and Grant and [personal profile] ladystarblade and and and. And, most of all, many thanks and much love to [personal profile] per_solo and his lady Crystal. Chris, you made it all happen.

And so we say goodbye to the Sheraton -- next year it's at the Marriott.

This coming weekend -- LibertyCon in Chattanooga.

How's your week looking?

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww. :) It was GREAT to have you as always and awesome to get to hang a bit at dead-dog. We're honored to have you and Chris is honored to be your liason. :) (and you can do your oh-so-humble response now if you want, but I'ma say it anyway!! hehe. =)

Take care Tom. Can't wait to see ya sing again!

Much love,
Crystal

Its only 20 copies that are being delivered on Thursday.... Its the extra 10 contributor (6 copies for 1 song) that are happening later in the week. (Roberta found a few volunteers to sing her "Fannish Orchestra" and its going to be in print.)

I'm hoping I that Binder & Binder will take up my SSI case. I sent them everything they asked for so I should hear from them this week sometime. Other than that not much really, though I may try to get some more writing done.

Just got back from four days in Michigan--went to Saugatuck and came back with a great idea for a story featuring my gay werewolf couple. Spent Friday night in a piano bar watching a guy play and sing who looked remarkably like Rolf the Dog turned into a human being by a clever Fairy Godfather. I paid him a buck to play "Crazy Train" on the piano and the SOB did it. Paid him another two bucks afterwards.

Leaving for LibertyCon this Thursday myself. It's my last out-of-the-Midwest appearance before I chain myself to the keyboard to try to finish the new novel and the kids' book. Look forward to seeing you there.

Tom

Lady Cheron, my youngest wife,--you know, the Pirate Wench-- will be with me on this trip. Kitten's got piles of library work to deal with, unfortunately.

Kerry's got me on a Green Energy Panel and I'll be around for the mass autographing session, as well as the Mad Scientist Panel.

Great fun! I LOVE Southern cons.

It was good to see you this weekend, and to get to hang out and chat for awhile at the table. And yes, someday, dammit, we will manage to have barbecue from GT South's.

My week? It's being remarkably well-behaved so far, which is the best I ever ask of a Monday.

One of the absolute best parts of this weekend was just hanging out with people and talking. I've been trying to do that more, and it's wonderful. Many hugs, and we can try again at GenCon. ;)

Was a total blast to hear you play again...been way too long since I saw Smith Live, as it were, even if I had to duck out early. I won't next time, promise.

Still sort of gobsmacked that you knew who I was, badge hint not withstanding, LOL. Gave me happy fuzzy feelings. :-)

As for the rest of the week, I'm trying to click back into 'mundania mode.' Not working so well so far...

Sounds like you're having a better day than me. I took today off to have my first post-40 physical. (http://newmail.monsterserve.com/keepout/movies/ddviol%5B1%5D.wav) Got the Weight Lecture, but otherwise (barring bloodwork) seem to be okay.

Every year I say I'm going to go to LibertyCon. It's only a couple of hours away. Every year I find myself not going. *sigh*

Glad to see you there, too, though it was mostly "see" in the purely optical sense as I was the guy in the hat always busy with something. I have to go to Penguicon to hear ya sing. =)

You are part of what makes InCon so much fun; hope you keep coming.

Hi, I'm sillyfox!

I guess this doesn't help much when your icon looks nothing like you...

(If it helps, I was the small, brown-haired lady dressed in a kimono for the better part of the con.)

Awww, they're inally moving it from the Sheraton to the Mariott? I love the Sheraton! It's a nice hotel with plenty to do around it. The Mariott has less things around it and isn't in as nice a location. :/

Miss one year and everything changes. :P

As always, it was an honor and privilege to be able to help. I realized I'd left the Apt. earlier without my phone and felt bad, just in case.

Glad you were able to stay the extra night..wish I'd been smart enough to bring a recorder...the two songs for Eric were great, but then, I like all your stuff. ;-)

Can't wait to see you at the next con I can see you at...this year was good..I hope that the next year or years at the Mariott again are just as good.

Take care, get to feeling better...I've been sleeping on and off today, and am just now thinking "Food..food is a good idea". You'd think I was still in convention mode.

I would have to concur about the two songs for Eric. Just being around Tom made my day a little brighter, especially after such a long weekend.

This week is more than a little insane. 12+ hours on the clock today, closing on the house tomorrow morning (though the closing paperwork has at least one error we've found so far) followed by work, off work for moving on Wednesday, appliance delivery and cable hookup on Thursday (with Mom being at the new place to let them in), and Friday is another full-plus workday. Then the unpacking begins.

Kat and I worked our first ANTHROCON with the Dorsai Irregulars this weekend. Highly enjoyable, but highly tiring. I got enough bling on the ID lanyard to build up my neck muscles to where they can tow a Mack truck, but walked my feet off to my knees; I believe I am currently 3' 7". Currently working up a filk about the line of Furries at the elevator to "I've got spurs that jingle, jangle jingle:"

I've got Furs that mingle, mangle, mingle
In the line to elevator door.
The mundanes, the married and the single,
Stand and stare at this sight upon the floor....

Tom, if your LIBERTYCON trip takes you through Louisville and you need a break Sunday, give us a call. We gots outdoor pool. :)

Yer a gent an' a scholar, ol' son. :) Louisville this trip is unlikely, but not impossible. Coming down at some other point is pretty much a certainty. And I'm so glad you had fun at Anthro. "Yeah, highly enjoyable but highly tiring" sums it up nicely.

Oh, and I have a Somali Pirates filk for you for Talk Like A Pirate Day.

Tom and anyone else planning to be in Chattanooga this weekend:

If you decide you need a break from LibertyCon, you can always come see me perform in A Midsummer Night's Dream (Bollywood style!) at Chattanooga State Technical Community College. We have performances on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 2:30 PM.

(/shameless plug)

But seriously, Tom, I'm glad you're making it back to my hometown. With my performance and work schedule, I doubt I'll make it over to LibertyCon at all. But I hope you enjoy some good Chattanooga hospitality while you're here.
