I haven't read much Sluggy Freelance the past couple of years. He got into some... I don't know what the hell he got into. I literally have not been able to follow it.

But you guys have to see today's.

He lost a lot of people with the Punyverse story, and really got weird with the whole Oceans Unending storyline, but that's over with. Come on back, the water is fine.

Oceans Unending put Sluggy into a tailspin for... god, I don't even know how long that thread lasted, but it lasted way too long.

It's improving now, but I don't know that it's back to pre-OU quality.

The thing is, Oceans Unending isn't a bad story, it just didn't serialize well. Now that it's all well in the can you can go back and re-read the entire thing in one sitting and it holds together much better.

You mean Oceans Unmoving? I loved that storyline! Adapted it for a GURPS game.

Just start at the beginning. Most of the complaints have been about stuff in the past couple of years.

This has been the best Sluggy in quite a while. I've been a loyal reader through thick and thin (and very thin). This doesn't restore much faith in the series (even a blind squirrel finds a few nuts) but if more strips were as good as this one, I'll be able to enjoy it again.

I've been trying to remember when Sluggy stopped being fun to read. I think it was when their house became a portal to another dimension where the undead ruled and we find out Allee's species has a nilhistic mantra that makes terrorism look "reasonable" in comparison. (Terrorism wants to wipe out everyone not like them. Allee's species just wants to wipe out everything.)

Oh, believe me. I don't trust the guy's storytelling ability as far as I can spit while inhaling. But it's nice to know that there's still something in there.

*huggles* See? Told ya it wasn't all bad. Come back around. He's promising some Torg Potter in just a bit (sick baby permitting). Those are usually worth some laughs. I loved today's as well. Pete's got such a special sense of humor.
