An upcoming video game based on the Showtime series Dexter.

What unlikely properties would you seriously like to see as video games? I'd like to see a real attempt at Autoduel. And of course a Girl Genius game could rock the universe -- I think as an RPG/exploration game in the style of Morrowind, but there are many possibilities.

Okay I was a fan of the books, and I'm a big fan of the series...
But a game where you play a functional serial killer deliberately and meticulously topping other deviants? That's fucked up.

S-wii-NEY TODD. Use the baton as a straight razor and carve your way through London.

That idea wins on the name alone.

Infinite Worlds. Damnit, the concept is tailor made for episodic game releases.

I vote for Autoduel as well!
How 'bout one based off of "The Last Starfighter" movie from the 80's?

Hmmm, great visuals, puzzles to solve, odd characters, fantasy element . . . yeah, Pushing Daisies would make a good game.

I'd like to see an honest attempt at the Incarnations of Immortality series by Piers Anthony or the Nightside books by Simon R. Green. Both could be really cool if done right.

Unfortunately, I can practically guarantee that Incarnations would be turned into a fighting game.

Though it would be cool to see each of the Incarnations using attacks based on the office. Or even just signature weapons, for Death and War.

Of course, I still haven't entirely forgiven Anthony for the seventh book. Should've left off at six.

Stargate SG-1 has not had an official game released yet (there's an MMO in the works but until I see it in the store it doesn't count). I think it would make a great RPG/exploration game.

How about a theater production game ala "The Movies". Call it "The Show Must Go On" or somesuch. Allow each machinima stage performance be recorded as an mpeg movie just like "The Movies" allows.

A Mr. Wizard science puzzle game would be neat.

For fiction I want:
- A Ringworld MMO
- A Skylark series RPG+Space Combat game
- An Escher Puzzle game
- An 1st person shooter based on the "Ender's Game" battle simulation chamber
- An RPG based on "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress"

I'd kinda like to see King Kong done as a video game, honestly. Yeah, that'd work. A great big gorilla carries a woman to the top of a building, see, and...
Oh. Right (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donkey_Kong_%28video_game%29).

Seriously, maybe adapt from of the Discworld books. Specifically, the City Watch stores. Yeah, that could work. Take the role of Sam Vimes as you wrangle a team of misfits charged with keeping the city less unsafe.

The Authority comic series. All the superhuman ass-kicking one could ever wish for.

Or maybe Good Eats, the TV show. Iron Chef might be good, too. Use what's in your kitchen to achieve culinary greatness!

My kid brother and I think a point-and-click adventure (think "Monkey Island") based on CLERKS and done in its "animated" style would rock so much nuts!

I'd like to see an open source, player created content MMO, something that makes it easy for non-programmers to creates people and critters (like how you make critters in Spore), terrain, buildings, quests, etc. Then we don't have to choose just one MMO to play, or create. Fans could create their own homages to their favorite books/movies/shows/artists (a Tom Smith MMO, anyone ;-) and players could hop around worlds as much as they want. Play in Girl Genius for an hour, transport to Discworld for a while, etc.

I'd like to see a Deus Ex or System Shock style game based on Shadowrun. I say this is unlikely because we're likely to get another half-assed FPS instead.

Also a Babylon 5 RTS - Homeworld, but with a more user-friendly control scheme. (I'm pretty sure there are total conversions for Homeworld and whatnot, but I want a Brand! New! Game!).

A Babylon 5 RTS would be pretty sweet. So would an MMO in my opinion its got enough rich history and cool ideas to go either way really.

Not exactly what you were asking for (I have too many ideas on that front, most of them not even close to feasible, like Sandman the MMORPG), but for whatever reason, the first thing that sprang to mind on reading this was a joke flyer at the first SF con I ever attended.

Cherry Pop-Tart, the LARP.

At least I think it was a joke flyer.

Blade Runner universe MMORPG for the win. You're either Cop, Little People, or Skin Job. Object of the game: SURVIVAL.

*chuckles* It's not a Girl Genius game, which I admit I'd LOVE to see, but...have you ever checked out Arcanum, Tom? Magic and steamtech together in one world. There are a few flaws, but it was a fun game, overall.

One of the few computer games that really got to me was X-Com: UFO Defense. It was as much economical as strategic turn-based combat. You had to fund and run an organization to defend humanity against alien invasion, research new tech stolen from the aliens, try to keep nations from negotiating with the aliens by defending a lot of Earth, and ultimately invade and destroy the invaders' home base.

The most important part of the game was the personnel. Each of your soldiers had a name and differing potentials. Just like the Vietnam Memorial, giving those faceless grunts a name and some individuality made you realize just what a cost war has. And when one of my guys was taken over by a Gygax-alien type of monster, it really hurt.

The game only ran in DOS, and the sequels that ran in Windows were pathetic. But if someone modernized this game, gave it some in-game video, and maybe added the first-person viewpoint for some scenes, it would be amazing.
