Well, my contribution to the OASIS picnic was only fair; smoked chicken legs (a tad overcooked) and Hard Rock Cafe beans. However, everyone was pretty happy. And a question came up about your house concert this coming week in Orlando. I can't attend, but at least two people are interested. I'll check to see if you posted details on the blog, and if not, e-mail you tomorrow.
In other news, I did reinstall Windows (the "nuke and pave" process) and need to get other stuff installed to get back to parity. Primarily, reinstall my antivirus stuff (yes, a legitimately bought one) so I can go online without fear.
Just relaxing in the hotel room watching TV as I wind down from MidSouth Con. Missed seeing you here but understand why you wanted to be where you were.
The FuMP acts were terrific especially Rob Balder, it was the first time I had seen him perform.
Ben Bova was also a great GOH - had lots of great stories to tell.
Participated in my MMORPG group event. Collected some recycling for tomorrow. Rotated the mattress. Changed the furnace filter. General stuff. Oh and when I caught my cat in the soaking tub while the washing machine was running. He was a little too interested in the waste water. So I turned on the water in the soaking tub and got him wet (so he won't go there again). I combed him and got a lot of fur off. He forgave me pretty quickly. I don't think he was ever mad. He just wanted a place to clean his fur.
Hey Tom, I started my own LJ a few weeks ago and I noticed a few differences in formatting. For one thing here I can right click on a misspelled word and get correct spellings. On my own, I can't. Do you have any clue why? (Also I don't know if I can get replies to my posts. It may be due to the quality of my posts but I'd feel better if I knew it was that instead of a setting that needs to be changed.)
Not sure about the formatting, but I can tell you that your LJ can indeed be commented upon (and I just did so to prove it). Misspelled words... that may be a browser setting. I have it on my desktop, but not on my laptop, and it doesn't seem to care whether or not I'm on LJ.
But I can tell you exactly why you haven't got any comments: You have nobody on your friends' list, and nobody has friended you. So, if anybody wants to check out alverant's profile (http://alverant.livejournal.com/profile), this seems to be a good time. :)
Much appreciated Tom. I plan on doing some work with it sometime this week. Tinker with the formatting so the comment count is more visible. Things like that. Anything I can do for free.
Work's getting weird, home life's getting weirder, and I'm looking for escape routes. But I'm considering trying to get an MBA in Marketing, if i can find a program I can afford that'll get me somewhere.
Chicken garlic soup notwithstanding, I'm still staggering around with that blasted cold. I'm ambulatory, but look awful enough that the kids at school are still being *really* nice to me and not trying anything. It's surreal, but I'll take it.

And my copy of "A Shoggoth On The Roof" arrived. Talk about inspired genius.
