Like Tweety and the Scar.

Fuckwits aren't going to be happy until Hillary Clinton does a pole dance. And then, of course, they'll say, "Jeez! Hillary did a fuckin' pole dance!"

Our Media Masters have decided that McCain has won the Presidency due to the Obama/Clinton conflict destroying the Democratic party.

Sure, you could look at it as our party having difficulty choosing between two obviously qualified candidates, but then who are we to question the Masters?

You know, I kind of like the idea that the tight race among the Democratic candidates has the conservatards thinking they have it in the bag because all the yellowdogs are fighting amongst themselves.

I kind of like the idea that they might honestly believe a huge chunk of us will huff and pout and refuse to vote in November if our favorite candidate isn't on the ballot.

'Cause y'know, I have a soft spot for the D&D Rogue, and the attitude they're displaying seems like the perfect setup for a Sneak Attack.

Somehow I missed all this. They're arguing about the man's bowling score? You know, I may disagree with him on several subjects, but his choice of hobbies is not something that is relevant.

I find especially annoying the bit about how if you're not good at something you shouldn't do it at all. Eh? It's supposed to be fun. If you're good at it that's great, but if you just have fun, that's fine.

The bowling thing isn't even a matter of them ragging on him in re: his choice of hobbies...but of them making fun of him doing poorly basically the first time he's played the game. Which is childish at best.

Speaking as an ignorant foreigner, I don't get the importance of sports to the U.S. presidency. Through many decades, from posing with a golf club to fumbling a football to bowling...what?

(I'd be slightly biased in favour of voting for someone who could honestly claim never to have touched a bowling ball.)

There's some weird belief that the president should be able to relate to the common people, and that playing sports is a sign that a presidential candidate can relate.

I don't know how this is supposed to work, but I understand the idea.

I'd find it interesting to see what actual "common" people would list as valid signs of being able to relate:
- comparing prices and nutritional information of two soup cans
- being able to keep a credit card balance from getting out of control
- living next to annoying neighbors without shooting them dead
- ...?

Trust me. Most of us "commoners" are more interested in that than how well you can play shuffleboard. It tends to be the media who pretend it's somehow relevant.

Yay. They want a Manly Man. And not somebody who went to Cambridge and read books.

I really have no idea why stupid is the new Presidential. Can we go back to the time when good looks was more important than how smart or dumb the guy was? I know it won't be much of an improvement, but it'll be a start.

I can hardly wait until one of them says "at least McCain didn't finish dead last in his class at Annapolis!" (He finished fifth from the bottom. See Jill at Brilliant at Breakfast, who says all that needs saying on this.)

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Chris Matthews is a fucking moron.

Joe Scarborough is a child. And not a particularly smart one. I think he's potty trained but can't be sure. And don't want to check.

*sigh* I knew shit was going to go downhill after the job they did on Clinton after New Hampshire, but bowling? Seriously, BOWLING?

Though now I'm considering maybe if our presidential candidates would stop trying to do this "look how human I am--I can throw a ball!" crap, maybe we'd all be better off. Clinton and Obama are going to be two hours away from me on Saturday, and then she's coming into town here on Sunday; maybe I should invite her to our RuneQuest game, so I can decide if she rolls well enough to be president.

It's about McCain's healthcare plan vs reality.
