This weekend is FilkOntario (and it's the birthday of one of the guests, tfabris -- many happies, Tony!), and I miss all you guys, and I hope you have a blast.

Also this weekend is the much smaller but equally nice KittenCon, and I miss all you guys, and I hope you have a blast.

And if you're in Orlando, come brave the local spring break traffic and join me at a house concert Saturday at 3:00.

Funeral for zrath's brother. I barely knew the guy, but Zrath is one of my oldest Internet friends, from the GEnie days, and I want to be there to support him. Thus do "computer friends" become real friends, through real shared life-experience.

Then watching new Torchwood and stuff to cheer up, although spoiler hints suggest that might not be especially cheerful viewing.

montuos is off to West BFE, North Carolina. For me, possibly gaming tonight; maybe the Birthday Bash at my car mechanic's Sat. morning, then a friend's birthday party in the afternoon and evening. Sunday I might be going to Pennsylvania to pick up a friend for a conference early next week.

Furthest guest, Kate, is coming from Montreal and has suffered through a train, bus, and airplane ride so far. She's overnighting in Aurora and should be here tomorrow morning. Colin's here from New Orleans. Exapno is arriving tomorrow afternoon and Eric Coleman is expected momentarily.

Sorry you're not here, Tom, maybe next year.

At the moment, taking a brief break at FKO. We left Pontiac at 2, and between a half-hour wait at the border, and a one-hour accident-caused traffic jam on the 401, we pulled into the hotel parking lot at 7:15. At which point, we rushed in, and managed to catch the last half of Tom and Sue's (absolutely beautiful) wedding.

In a few minutes, I'll head up to the con suite for Tony and Vixy's CD release party. (Damn betcha I'm buying one.)

Hosting a housewarming featuring a concert by Roy Zimmerman (http://www.royzimmerman.com/), my Web design client and former Foreman (foremen.royzimmerman.com/), who is in town this week on a break from his ad hoc national tour (he's booking as he goes, trying to hit all 50 states.

Unfortunately, a lot of the folks I had expected to show up with bells on are going to be at FilKONtario. I'm going to see if he'll authorize a bootleg recording for the benefit of those who could not attend.

Went to OddCon this weekend. The panel with George R. R. Martin and Jim Frenkel telling stories about con history was great.

I'll post a bit more of a report over on my LJ, but wanted to note here the trick that vixyish pulled on tfabris during their set. One of the songs they did was Jonathan Coulton's "Re: Your Brains" translated into French. With jodimuse and ohiblather holding up signs for the audience that had "All we wanna do is eat your brains" in French, so we could do our part. Vixy even did JoCo's standard patter about how zombies sing, also in French. It was hilarious.

After the song was done, Vixy kept talking in French. Jodi held up a new sign, on which was written (in English) "Yesterday was Tony's birthday. He doesn't know I'm saying this." Then Debbie held up her new sign: "At the count of three, we're all going to sing Happy Birthday to him." Vixy ended with "Un, deux, trois" and we all sang, catching Tony completely by surprise. When we were done, he turned to Vixy and said, "I'm going to kill you so much."
