Home from EschaCon, home from the house concert in Orlando, home home home. And it's spring. And I have a fuckin' phat pipe of an internet connection again, and I must download the new Doctor Who. And I promised Anne I would start catching up on Galactica. And I have a WHOLE BUNCH of new music coming between now and PenguiCon.

I really haven't been able to keep up much over the past week. How are you all doin'?

I'm here, halfway through wacky week (five days, three cities, three interviews; thanks to hopping timezones, no two days have the same number of hours), and off to LaGuardia at oh-dark-thirty in the morning. At least I have post-interview dinner plans with friends tomorrow night.

Back from Florida, eh? Oh well. I'll see you at Penguicon, though! Yay!

Yay for new music. Can't wait to hear it.

I'm doing ok. Recovered from the con crud I got at MidSouthCon. Ready for Pcon. Whoot!

Really wish I could go to PCon, with a new job it's possible. But going back to work after an out-of-state con with little recovery time is just not gonna work for me.

I'll see you at Duckon, Tom!

Glad you're home safe.
I just pulled the vid clips from the house show off my phone, I'll have them posted tonight :-)
Thanks again for the great show!

You're very welcome, and it was great to see you! I've gotta go over those clips, as well as the audio that I do have (such a jerk, I never remember to hit that damn button on the H4. On the other hand, I wish it was a better button -- no tactile response).

I had a wonderful time at my first (!) FilKONtario.

I keep reminding myself about Penguicon; I hope I can make it.

Are there going to be CDs of this years FilkOntario? I've been trying to collect them. I have 1998, 2000, and 2006 and I plan on getting more at DucKon.

No filk CDs released @ FKO other than Vixy and Tony's CD Thirteen (get it, its good!). As far as I know, FKO CDs exist for FKOs 7 THRU 13. There is a tape from FKO 2 and I don't know if Wail Songs did more than just that FKO.

(CD release info per Glenn Simser, a Canadian filk dealer.)

Li'l bit of sinusitis, the Ohio Valley's special way of telling me to get my Yankee ass back North where i belong. Dad's doing better and goes back to work in 2 weeks. Gonna miss you at Conglom, but I have to miss most of Sunday anyway 'cause I'm required to attend my little cousin's First Communion. *gripe* I love the kid, but Catholicism hasn't been my deal for most of the past 2 decades. Next year I will make it ABUNDANTLY fricken clear to my mother's family that I WILL be at Conglom the entire weekend, my birthday notwithstanding (Sunday of Conglom '09 is my 27th birthday, and I'd rather spend it with my chosen family in fandom than with people I tolerate because of simple consanguinity)
/gripe
I'm exercising, I'm starting a new diet plan next week. My goal is to lose about 30 pounds and 2-4 inches around my middle. It will take as long as it takes. I'm trying to be fit, not trying to waste away to nothing.

I thought the kids at school have been nice to me because I've been sick since ConSonance. In reality, they think I'm pregnant because of my winter rounded belly. And, they don't believe me when I deny, thinking I'm trying to keep "junior" safe from "the really bad kids" hurting me at work.

Eh, not bad. High point of today was a friend of mine telling me her husband mistook one of my songs for Tom Lehrer! And I've started on a couple of new songs.

It's the special time of year here in Augusta, GA that we call the Masters tournament week. So we've got unusually high traffic for this town, and the bars and restaurants are all too packed to bother even thinking about going out with friends in the evenings.

Plus, it's pollen season. That, unfortunately, will last longer than a week.

It's been an interesting week. I was semi-officially moved to a different position at work. Now it's more of an explicit mix of programming and writing SQL. You see I've been with my current employers for almost 3 years, only the manager has been around longer than I. So I have developed a good expertise with our database and intranet. Now I'm being passed back and forth between two departments as needed. It adds variety to my work and I've impressed people. To quote my second boss, "He wrote some tricky SQL in about ½ day with no help from me that the [contractor] worked on for 4 days and still wasn’t even close to figuring out."

I'm also looking for a new job. The commute I have now is a killer and I'm dissatisfied with how things are being run. Yesterday I had an interview. Since I'm still employeed, I can be picky. This company did not impress me. It didn't have what I was looking for.

Today at work we did testing for a release tomorrow. I found 2 major errors that should have been caught before. One of them was an assignment given to a contract worker I thought he could do. It should have been easy but he made some basic errors. Trying to fix it kept me late for an hour. I'm not happy about that. There's more stuff I got to do tonight.

I also posted on my LJ about spoilers and Law & Order if anyone is interested. http://alverant.livejournal.com/6633.html

One happy bit of news, this morning my kitty Lena woke me up by grooming my forehead. I'm lucky to have such an affectionate cat.

Welcome home. My friend didn't make the house concert due to weather. :( They would have had a good time.

I-CON was tiring and fun. A filk dealer was there for the first time in about 8-10 years. (It helped to have them as GOH.)

I was wondering when we would hear more new music from you.... (I asked Sudden Death about your not having a FuMP song in a while, he explained how everyone gets what dates.)

welcome home! I miss hearing you - are you going to Conglom? I am still trying to juggle that one with work :( If not, I will content myself with your CDs

I have had a very good weekend and have a new sweetie. He's also one of your fans - Awfulhorrid.

*hugs*

Finally got the OASIS Concert, Part 2, rendered with "straight camera audio." Friday I expect to burn the DVD's and CD's with the content you need. And I will send two copies (for redundancy - something I've learned from sad experience) to you, and keep one for myself just in case.

Then...I find the other tape, with the first half of the concert, ingest it into the computer, produce it, and send it to you. Hoping for a faster turnaround, although who know what spitballs life will throw in the future?

Glad you got back home safe man. :) Looking forward to stopping by your table at Gen Con. It'll be cool to talk again. I'm loving the cds I picked up there last year.
