Sadly, my exciting news is accompanied by a NDA. But you will be one of the first people with whom I share it once I can!

Food shopping, MP3 editting I never got to yesterday, watching the 2 more recent Dr Who episodes, laundry, and trying to find a clone of myself so I can get it all done when I need to be in two places at once to do it all.

I had to go to work and install a couple of machines. :-/

Other than that I hope to get out into the garden and pull some of the old vegetation by the previous owner.

Much the same. Reinstalling a laptop for my MiL, and discovering, to my chagrin, that I'd messed up a setting in Agent that caused it to autopurge a huge number of things I'd been putting off, and that are now lost.

And yelling at the kids to clean their room. Like every day :-)

A long walk in the park this morning, followed by a few errands, then home to put in a few hours cracking a technical problem for work. (Cracked it, one bug remaining.) Read the newspapers, and finally got to do some web surfing. Still have to pack for my (gack!) 7 AM flight tomorrow - spending the week at a customer in Milwaukee.

Taking care of a sick cat (the one pictured in this icon). Last week Ash was diagnosed with hepatic liposis, also known as fatty liver disease. Rough recovery, but he's getting better, so at this point it's mostly a matter of making sure he doesn't relapse.

Knitting.

Baking cookies.

Crunching numbers for work.

Must I go back to work?

Caught up on sleep from a business trip this past week (I don't sleep well in hotels as a rule), moved a bunch of boxes that we won't need till our move (in june) to the storage locker by the new house, ran an errand or two and did some reading up on garden stuff.

Typical spring day here, ie rain, rain and oh yeah, more rain!
Much the the same as at least 8 months of the year in Britain really, aside from variations in temperature. [you can have cold & wet, warm & wet or just wet with wind!]

Killing bad guys in City of Heroes mostly, with occasional forays into writing an outline for a story I'm working on. [a very-much-NOT-so traditional swords & sorcery / fairy tale.] Wondering if I can get away with making the princess a lesbian without over-egging it.

Oh yeah.. and pausing to snigger when I Have a Shoggoth comes on...

Ran to pick up my monthly prescriptions and then rest from the bronchitis that is finally breaking up. I should be back to work tomorrow.

Oh and the wife made Cincinnati chili for dinner.

I'm a 4-way (no onions) man m'self. Until I get down to a Skyline again, I've got some chili spaghetti frozen.

Oh, and the two recipes from America's Test Kitchen I have to try. ;)

I prefer 3 way, not much of a bean person and I cannot do raw onions. The wife did 4 way, no beans.

We got these spice packs for Christmas from a friend. Gold Star. The spice was really, really nice. Good bite, with the hint of cinnamon, etc. Will be better tomorrow as leftover.

Yup. It's not Cincy Chili without the cinnamon. I love the whole East Texas Red approach myself (no beans no tomatoes no onions - 'cause the cattle drivers who originated the stuff didn't generally have those things readily at hand*) but I like 'most every style of chili - although I have to be careful about onions in any case. Garlic? NO problem! Hot peppers? No problem! Don't ask me why. I don't understand either. And, in any case, beans can always be added later. I especially like to use dried chipotles and fresh jalapenos. And a dash of honey.

*OK, some had beans, some had onions - but tomatoes were not commonly available "on the trail".

Wow, same with me. Raw onions are an issue. If cooked, I can eat them all day. I can do gaaaaahlic all day, and peppers most of the time (if I make "Texas Chili" I use habeneros). Love spice of all types. It does not have to burn your mouth, but it can. I just love taste. Jerks, blackened, Cajun, Indian, Asian, etc. Spice is what brings life to food.

A man after my own heart (if not stomach). Habaneros are lovely. Indian/Nepalese are Nirvana incarnate! My fave subcontinental is chicken mukhadi (roast chicken in a creamy/buttery tomato sauce with those lovely spices). And General's chicken FAR outranks the Colonel! Jerk, however, I never got on with so well.

I have to be a little careful. I have a touch of acid reflux, but mostly I have evidence that I'm a supertaster. A little heat goes a looooong way for me.

And, yeah, it's the raw part of raw onions. I have the same problem, and solution, with mushrooms, which I can't stand raw and can't get enough of cooked.

Finding too much interesting stuff online, helped a little with clearing out a building (eventually to be a community center), more catching up on lj, and might possibly have lost interest in Minesweeper. And have made the nth try at reading Little, Big-- it's looking much more interesting this time.

Light mood. "I have a Shoggoth" is an earworm. I like how the choruses vary a bit. Keeps you on your toes. My 4yo daughter recognized the count from Sesame Street. Light cleaning, light laundry, light online surfing, cookout yesterday.

Backed up my music files to external hard drive. Got a new vacuum cleaner (old one was 10+ years old) and took it for a spin. I think the carpets are a shade lighter than before. Swept the garage. Just general clean up before the work week begins.

Rainy day here, but no matter, we spent most of it in the Ethical Society's beautiful building waiting to get Alton Brown's autograph. We weren't expecting so many people (apparently neither were they!). AB spent about an hour talking and answering questions, then at least three hours signing autographs. He was very funny and friendly! I need a sign in my kitchen that says "What Would Alton Brown Do?".
