2nd trailer for the reboot of The Incredible Hulk is up. Listen very carefully when the title flashes near the end.

ETA: What there is to hear is, the first four notes of the Hulk theme, the music they always played at the end of the Bill Bixby TV show. You know, the one that sounds like "Super Heroes" from Rocky Horror.

I've never been a Hulk fan, but Liv Tyler, Tim Roth, and a reasonably sized Hulk this time around? I'll take it. =)

I'm still not sure about Edward Norton as the Hulk, but given my lack of attachment to the character, I'm willing to give him a chance.

I have always wondered about that. "Super Heroes" came first. The Hulk TV theme is so obviously that very song, I can't believe there's never been legal action over it. And, if there has been, I bet Richard O'Brien is stinkin' rich because of it....

OK, that sample is cool. The rest...it's still too artificial looking and seems rather bland. Much like the comic was for so many years. AS super-heroes go, Hulk's jsut never been up there for me (except during the PAD era, when he was a totally different character).

Okay, I'll admit to being clueless, but I'm having a hard time hearing whatever it is that's running when the title flashes. Help?

ETA: The You Fail Icon is directed at me. I have a feeling I should know the answer to this...

I couldn't hear it either, but that's OK. The movie looks good. I'm going to watch it. Thanks!

I paused it to see who was in the photo, and noticed that the text repeats itself twice. Which is OK, maybe, when it only appears on an unpausable theater screen for two seconds. When you release the trailer in HD on the Web, you have to know people are gonna pause the video to check out every last detail, because Fans Are Obsessive. Knowing that, you can't come up with three more sentences to make it less obvious that This Is Just A Movie Prop?

Edit: I take it back: Technically, it only repeats itself once, since the text at the top starts at a later point than the text at the bottom ends. Still...

The Stranger

I always thought the notes were from Billy Joels song, 'The Stranger'. Seems more appropriate to me than "Super Heroes".

According to Youtube, the Hulk ending theme is called "The Lonely Man", and it is slightly different from "Super Heroes". Certainly more different than the base line of "Under Pressure" vs "Ice Ice Baby".

It's more on the range of the difference from "My Sweet Lord" vs "He's So Fine"... but bear in mind, George Harrison LOST that suit. (The people who did the song named second sued Harrison for infringement, and won.)

(The people who did ["He's So Fine"] sued Harrison for infringement, and won.)

The settlement of that suit was entertaining, due to circumstances that the original authors had nothing to do with.
