Heads-up to anyone reading this who lives in Cleveland: Apparently Papa John's made some T-shirts that insulted LeBron James, and he got all testy, and Papa John's said We're Sorry and decided to make it up to Cleveland by selling Clevelanders a large one-item 'za for 23¢, and then donating all those cents plus another $10K to the Cavaliers Youth Fund.

Cleveland, you will never have a better reason to blow a quarter. Heck, you'll get change.

I know we must've done this at one point or another, but what do you like on a pizza? I've gotta have pepperoni, with optional mushrooms or pineapple... although I also like plain cheese now and again, as well as CPK's Thai Chicken.

Ham/Canadian Bacon and pineapple, though I'm often alone in that among my circle of friends.

Mushroom and onion is also a favorite combo. Mushrooms on pizza with just about anything else I enjoy, really.

BBQ chicken is okay sometimes. My kids are eating chocolate pizza at the moment. Pizza crust (pre-baked), chocolate sauce, and Hershey's Kissables.

I've got a few particular favorites. The "Spin-occli" (spinach/broccoli) at Uno's in Chicago, and the Chicken Alfredo at Pizza House in Ann Arbor. Other than that? I'm mostly a vegetarian pizza kind of girl (green peppers, black olives, mushrooms, onions, and extra cheese).

My ideal pie would have ground beef, onions, garlic, extra cheese and, on half the pie, anchovies.

I also like sausage, mushroom and pepperoni. But anyone who tries to put a single fucking olive on my pizza gets a boot to the head.

Linguiça pizza. It's BETTER than pepperoni.

Of course, the only place you can order it is in New England, the origin of the Portuguese diaspora of North America. The Papa John's here in midwestern Columbus offered it for a very short while, but it was too short for me to take advantage of it.

Meats: Ham and/or back bacon, grilled chicken (I haven't tried the Thai chicken as CPK locations are very thin on the ground here), meatballs, sausage, sometimes pepperoni. My GI tract sometimes gets issues with too much grease.

Veggies: mushrooms, black olives, spinach, eggplant, tomatoes, artichoke hearts, fennel, sometimes broccoli. Hell, I'll even eat zucchini slices on pizza (they're best if you steam the slices some first).

I'll eat anchovies on a pizza but don't usually ask for them. (Last week we just happened to have 4 people who liked anchovies so we put them on a small pie to split.)

Meat.

If I had to pick just one topping for a red-sauce-type pizza it'd be pepperoni, but if I'm allowed more I'd add (Italian) sausage, ham, American bacon, Canadian bacon, ground beef, ground pork, onions, garlic, and extra cheese. Other specialty pizzas I like include the barbecue chicken pizza, the peking duck pizza (with hoisin sauce instead of tomato), and a chicken pesto pizza (green basil instead of tomato sacue).

I love the Southwestern Chicken pizza at Cottage Inn. Chicken, bacon, red onions, and BBQ sauce mixed in with the pizza sauce. It's amazing.

It's one of those little things I miss desperately about Ann Arbor sometimes. The BBQ Chicken pizzas I can get around here are good, but just not quite the same.

I can't get linguiça on my pizzas where I live, so linguiça and mushroom is just a college memory.

Ham and pineapple, sausage and mushroom, sausage and pineapple, or mushroom and green pepper are my pizzas of choice.

Shrooms always work for me. I also like black olives and eggplant as toppings. I tend to go veggie with my pizza because most of the meat toppings give me heartburn. (There was this place in the Research Triangle area that had a Chicken Florentine pizza I loved, but I don't live there anymore, and I probably can't tolerate that combo as well as I did 10 years ago)

Except for anchovies and green (or any other color) peppers, I'm cool with any topping.

I hate tomatoes but can usually put up with them to get the rest of the ingredients. But alfredo or pesto pizza is sheer heaven.
