A whole bunch of stuff is shaping up in a big hurry for MarCon next weekend in Columbus, OH, and a little advance notice seemed a good thing.
  • I will have a 75-minute concert, signed by the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] judifilksign, Friday at 7:00 in Union E.
  • I will also have a half-hour concert in the hall near Registration and the Franklin Rooms Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
  • I will have a table in the Dealers' Room, shared with [livejournal.com profile] lukeski. The two of us and [livejournal.com profile] huskiebear will likely be there a lot -- come by and say Hi!
  • I originally made a reservation for two rooms, Thursday through Sunday nights. Two of the people I thought might be coming will not be, so we don't need one of the rooms. If you need a room reservation, let me know, and we can likely work it out. Seems saner than just cancelling, anyway.
I'll repeat this post as we get closer.

Anything cool that you're involved in at MarCon that we need to know about?

I have a half-hour set as the judging-time act of the Masquerade Saturday night, and another half-hour set Sunday at 1:00 pm in Union E. I intend for them to be two different sets, full of music that I've created since MarCon 2006. [livejournal.com profile] dement1a will be joining me at the con, her green hair having turned wildflower purple for the summer.

I have a great idea for the Dealer Room table... we set up a dunk tank, and you can sell people three throws for five dollars to attempt to drown me. What do you think? I think [livejournal.com profile] partiallyclips and [livejournal.com profile] devospice might drive out from BaltiCon just for a shot at that. ;)

Nah. Too much chlorine for the comic collectors -- them poly bags ain't watertight, y'know. Besides, Rob's knuckleball is dreadful.

I have an "Origins/Development/Future of Filk" panel at 5:30 Friday evening with an excellent bunch of co-panelists, a "Filk-SMOFfing vs. Gen-SMOFfing" panel at 11:30 a.m. Saturday with a similarly marvelous group, and a hall concert at 2 p.m. Saturday. If all goes according to plan, the lovely and talented Kira Heston will be assisting me for the hall concert.

Wild Mercy is releasing the "Dream of a Far Light" CD with a concert on Saturday afternoon wherein we will perform the Whole Darn Thing (all 72 minutes worth), also with the lovely signing of [livejournal.com profile] judifilksign and electric space fiddle by [livejournal.com profile] sweetmusic_27. It will rock, so I hope you'll be there (understanding that you'll be late, since I think we start at 1:00 p.m., so right on the heels of your hall concert). I have a hall concert outside Reg too... Friday earlier, I think (I don't have my schedule or my brain handy), and we'll all be in open filk for much of the weekend. :-)

Awesome. I'll be at the concerts if I'm not scheduled to work at the time.

Whoa, whoa, wait. I gotta check my stuff again, but...I thought Opening Ceremonies was Friday at 7. What sicko scheduled your concert across from that? I mean, smeg. I'm Robert Asprin's Guest Liason, and he's one of the Author GoHs, so he's gotta be at Opening Ceremonies (I think), but I don't want to miss your concert.
This sucks, even when I'm only on two panels I wind up having to miss something I was really looking forward to......

I'll be helping M. w/sound in the filk room, along w/E. It'll be fun to see you again, as always. Have a good trip to Columbus!

Oh, damn. :( My flight doesn't get in until 9:45pm Friday night, and that was the earliest one I could find. Damn, damn, damn.

My glamorous and glorious plans for the con, at this point, mostly consist of wandering around looking cute and, come Saturday night, hopefully dancing until my feet bleed. (By the way, anyone know if Dr. Demento is still DJ'ing? I couldn't find the answer anywhere on the web page.....)

Well, this year [personal profile] kevin_standlee is the FGOH. I think that's pretty cool.

This is the first year in a while that I didn't get to tie myself down with a schedule of panels to be on.

Degrees of freedom are maximized.
I feel positively ionic!

Makes me wish I were going to Marcon. However, I'm not and I have other committments, so--have fun, y'all.

I'm on panel at 7pm Friday, which means I'll miss your concert again. I think I've missed more than I've seen at Marcon, due to scheduling conflicts.
