Additional, Belated Thanks

I'm still not online all that much -- truly, dial-up is damn near impossible after dealing with the fastest level of DSL, especially since (as we all watched happen, as some of us did with our own pages) even the most basic pages get more and more graphics/script/etc. intensive and harder to load. I still have a lot to do, and a lot of people to thank, and that's gonna be a process throughout the rest of the year. Honestly, I've barely started.

But.

I have sadly neglected mentioning the Herculean efforts of two particular people, and I want to correct that oversight.

DJ Particle, aka emiofbrie, was right there with Rob every step of the way on organizing the fundraiser CD, as well as kicking in the spiffola "On The PC" series remix.

Sara Trice, aka dement1a, cranked out a great web page for the CD and keeps it going.

Ladies: Thank You So Very Much. Lots of love, hugs, and chocolate.

Anybody you need to thank in particular for something? I should also mention Randy Milholland, the Foglios, MC Lars, and the nice folks at Ctrl-Alt-Del.

Most browsers can be set to not load images, or to load images only on individual mouse-click command. You might try that.

I think separately that Livejournal can be set not to display avatars, and possibly images as well.

eta: in Firefox, which I'm guessing is your most likely browser, in Preferences, under Content, uncheck the "Load images automatically" checkbox. That should help.

Sorry for the necro-post, but I just wanted to make you aware that some recognition should also be given to Cataplexia Numbers of Second Life as well, for in addition to my weekly fundraisers, she has been selling virtual paintings and sculptures in SL during the fundraisers with the proceeds going to you as well :)
