This is really pretty cool, though not entirely unexpected. On another note, you have to wonder what NASA was thinking, naming a mars probe (and we all know how poor of luck they have had with those at times) after something that spontaneously self-immolates.

I suppose they had to confirm the polar caps that shrank and expanded from the orbital pictures was, in fact, water crystals.

I'm glad they got the loading arm and oven working, before all the ice sublimated away.
