Walked all the hell over the PT room (with the walker, obviously). Exhausting, but very satisfying. Got cleared for bathroom/bed/chair/etc. transfer, at least if the toilet is high enough.

As Shakey Jake would say, "On the move!"

On an entirely different front, the other day I misheard a Red Lobster commercial for their garlic shrimp as "Dalek shrimp".

EXTERMINATE!

And how's your Monday?

Bwahahaha! What, was the announcer from Brooklyn or what? Now I need to go eat some of that.

And dude, I'm proud of you. Your progress and speedy healing does us all proud. PT sucks large igneous rocks but it works.

Thanks, m'dear. My left leg is still very stiff, and I can't flex it a lot past 90° without it hurting, and I'm beginning to wonder if that's ever going to improve much. Don't want to damage the tendon again. But, I really feel as if I'm making progress towards Getting Out Of Here.

I can certainly relate with the kneecap removal I had back in '86. It takes awhile but the most important thing to do is the exercises. I didn't have any PT (damn insurance) and my leg muscles withered. I would hate for anything like that to happen to you!

Reggae/electronica song (by Groove Armada) where I was repeatedly misheard the main phrase/name of the song as "Butt Scooting Dude" [really "But I Feel Good". However, I still think my version works too :P].

And glad you're all ready and rarin', but do go slow and steady with that PT.

Is it bad if [livejournal.com profile] filkertom's "Walking Along the Beach While You're Slitting Your Wrists Song" is the first "Walking" song I think of?

Very productive in the garden this morning. I built a three panel trellis for my cucumbers to hang from out of scraps that past tenants left in our yard.

I missheard a nut commercial the othe rday. It ended with 'a tasty snack', and I heard 'our nut sack'. I honestly thought they had said that, and thought it was a pretty funny way to end a nice, normal commercial...but I was wrong.

Speaking of Doctor Who: Have you had a chance to see the 2-part season finale yet?? OH MY GOD.

Speaking of mis-heard/mis-read statements: I once "overheard" an online discussion of a script concept someone had once written for the Disney cartoon Rescue Rangers. Only when I came in there was no mention of "rescue", just "the Rangers" and how they were to go to the beach and bust up a cheese smuggling ring. This was back when Babylon 5 was still on the air, and it immediately gave me a VERY bizarre image:

Marcus, in full Ranger garb, sunning himself on the beach while a very bewildered Sheridan and Ivanova poke around a cheese-filled warehouse, and then Londo paraphrasing that famous line from Wallace & Gromit: "Vir! That's it! Cheese! We'll go somewhere where there's cheese!" (in proper Londo accent of course, with Vir's face pretty much matching the one on Gromit's from A Grand Day Out).

See, this is what happens when you enter a conversation at juuuuuust the wrong moment.

Oh and congratulation on your ever-progressing recovery!! Soon you'll be able to play the tuba again in no time ;)

We are Dalek Shrimp... our seed genetically culled from the DNA of brimey salt-water creatures of Earth's ocean. Combined with the DNA of the last Dalek survivor of the Time War! Our evolution is supreme! The only downside is that pesky Time Lord keeps chasing us with a cup of cocktail sauce... our only weakness!!!! EXTERMINATE!

Dalek shrimp - shell on, obviously...

In a nice hot sauce. Come to think of it, I used to know a restaurant that served something like that. Long gone, alas.

You had me at "exterminate" - we secular dolphinist (no S - there's only the one of us) are opposed to seafood.

My Monday started slow with a visit by a plumber, who decided my toilet was old and cracked and installed a new one. Then I went down to get by badge for Denvention early. Must go back & get program book today because I went too early. Day ended nicely when I saw this item posted and forwarded it to a bunch of people. Glad to hear you are up and getting about!

Hey Tom!
I am glad to hear that you are up and moving! Don't worry about the stiffness - your physical therapist will be able to work that out - and I can promise that you will discover new and different meanings of PAIN! Physical therapist's are not sadistic, at home . . . but when they are at work - good luck to you and ghodspeed! Glad my hospital vacation was just my gall bladder - I was up and walking the next day! I get the feeling that they would have had me walk back from surgery but I was a little groggy still.
See you at OVFF - if not sooner.

Lowell
