If I've been saved, how come I don't garner any interest?

Actually, that idea's not new. Here's what happened to me a few decades ago: http://zianuray.livejournal.com/274119.html

So, um, if the whole planet's already been saved, then I guess these jackasses no longer need to bother knocking on my door and handing me pamphlets?

So right. I keep telling them that the age of proslytism is over. Everyone knows the story - except perhaps some tribes in New Guinea, and you won't get those by shouting your head off in the pedestrian area in Frankfurt.

Hold on, if I'm reading this right she is saying. We don't need to worry about global warming because of Jesus?

Please tell me I'm wrong, nobody is that stupid, NOBODY! Haven't these twits heard of stewardship, responsibility. I'm a Christian, and I'm offended by these people.

Well, I might be wrong, but did not Jesus save the sinners? I don't remember the word 'planet' in the script. And I have yet to learn that Jesus was majorly involved in environmental issues.

In the simplest form yes, he saved the sinners. But you're right there was no mention of the planet or the environment. In fact we are told that we are stewards over the planet, meaning we need to look after it. These people are insane.

Didn't Jesus also fix things so that you can run a whole fleet of SUVs on five batteries and two gallons? Ergo, we don't need any more drilling....

This pack of fools has forgotten that what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, and therefore that is what defiles them.

No, not forgotten. Willfully ignored...because we've been trying to point this out for a while now.

You know, I've said this before and I will say it again: Jesus, please save me from your violent and idiotic followers. I know you have good people following you, but the ones everyone sees are the ones that make everyone shake their head in shame and embarrasment. That these followers are the ones in power is a sin against us all. (and yes, this "prayer" is coming from someone who is jewish)

The only thing sadder than these twinkies are the twinkies who vote for them. I don't bring my physics book into your bibleschool, you don't bring your bible into my science class, and we'll all get along.

Is there someone out there familiar with Revelation and Christian apocalyptic rantings that could frame the proposition that the corporate world-rapers are the forces of the Antichrist and we're already fighting the final battle in a way that would get through to fundies?

Something just occurred to me. If the world and everything in it is saved, then that means all the Jews, Moslems, Hindus, Blacks, $DislikedGroup are saved automatically too! Oh, praise Jesus for ensuring heaven will be crammed full of "those" people, no matter what religion they are, because he saved the world! I hope she's ready to rub shoulders for all eternity with the people she spit upon.

Hm, I wonder if the world that was saved was meant to be flat. I wonder whether a spherical world is covered by the salvation policy as originally drawn up.

Nope. It's in the not-so-fine print. Jesus did the heavy lifting, but he (reportedly; I tend to suspect a good deal was in the hands of the editors who framed the histories) did a Tug McGraw: Ya Gotta Believe or all bets are off.

Of course, the numbnuts who wrote this was thinking of all the folks who believe, ignoring the fact that the majority of the world doesn't.

See, this is why (actually one of the gazillion reasons why) the aliens don't come down to visit us. We are the dimwits of the universe with people like that among us, let alone being in a power of representation!! (Not to mention the dimwits who elected her!) *shudder*

If a comet ever slams in to the earth, we should place her squarely at the point of impact.

Hi! I'm Lola. I heard a lot of good things about you on the Dragon*Con LJ board, so I friended you. I'm a filking and D*C fan.

Pleased to meet you, Lola! I won't be at Dragon this year, but I may be next year or the year after, and I will be at GAFilk in January, FSM willing and the creek don't rise.

Nice to meet you, too! I'm sorry you won't be at D*C, but from reading your LJ entries, it looks like you have more pressing issues. I hope your physical therapy continues to work. Hopefully next year you'll be back at D*C! Who knows--maybe the filk track will actually be on track next year. I want to go to GAFilk some time--I've heard a lot about it. I can't afford it this year, but maybe next year.
