[livejournal.com profile] beldar informs us that the 2008 winners of the Bulwer-Lytton competition are up.

Care to share any of your entries for next year?

On an almost totally unrelated note, Laurell K Hamilton has a blog.

You're on it.

Man...I'm sure the Science Fiction winner has already been published. Often.

(Thanks for the link.)

Thanks for the shout-out.

If I remember the rules right, they accept new entries all the time, with the deadline for each year's contest on Tax Day, April 15.

Oh dear...I'm really not sure I would ever be able to make myself write anything worthy to compete with these.

My favorite has got to be the winner of the Grand Panjandrum's Special Award.

Oh, yes. I mean, I love puns, don't you? :)

Oh those are good!! I like the Children's Literature ones the best, including the Dishonorable Mention one.

I busted a gut on the winner for Adventure; that image was just too ludicrous. A lot of the others were funny too, but I was already high on laughter so I don't think I can judge them fairly.

I must say that the one about the one dyed man being king was the foulest pun I've seen in a long time, worthy of Spider Robinson, though I think it could be set up a lot better.

The children's lit winner was brilliant.
