[livejournal.com profile] janmagic lets us know that Andy and Ginny Eigel and their friend Chris Spencer have opened a coffeehouse and gaming center in Cinci called ROXX. The address is 6745 Cornell Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242
-- phone 513-297-1260.

Hmmm. Coffeehouse. Hmmm. What can you do in a coffeehouse besides game and drink coffee, I wonder...?

Hm. Coffee, game.... I dunno. Maybe schmooze? Eat little nibbly things? I have no idea what else one could possibly do in a coffeehouse.

Does it begin with an "F"?

I need a hint here...

If it has Wi-Fi -- and I think it does -- then one can surf the Internet while there.

They're usually way too quiet. I wonder if they can come up with something to do about that...?

Roxx is quiet on the gaming side since everyone playing world of warcraft has headsets and sitting in the wide comfey office chairs. the other side has pit couches and is a conversation hangout

Does it have a place for a stage? If it does (like Wayward Coffeehouse (http://www.waywardcoffee.com), a popular Vixy and Tony venue, does), you can have filk concerts!

THE subject of having music at roxx has been in the orginal plans.
they do not have a stage, per say. andy has said there could/would be times
that roxx would have private party/filk. there is room for band set up in front of the 72" guitar hero screen
there is a fair amount of room and music can be had.
the coffee is ( so i hear ) quite delicious mild roast. and very very fresh.

Ooo! A filk concert in a coffeehouse. All your favorite filk songs... caffinated! You lucky people will be able to hear Tom sing "Five Years" after he's had a few too many cups of joe ;-)

There is no place here for gaming. None. Or if there is, I haven't heard of it. You mostly have to arrange things yourself.

good drinks, great games. 5 minutes from my workplace, oldest boychild can spend the whole day there and not get into trouble. Great morning staff (Jinny). Comfy chairs, really comfy chairs.

They even host a phone bank for Obama's campaign.

Why don't you visit this place, investigate the possibilities, and give us a full report, Tom?

...

I'm currently at work in a location that is probably less than a mile from this place.

Thanks for the tip, Tom!
