One of my best friends is not celebrating today. That's fine. I'll celebrate her, because I love her dearly, and have for thirty-plus years.

[livejournal.com profile] dubheach, my dear one, any and every day is special for your being in it.

Anybody in particular you'd like to celebrate today? I suspect the Internet is going to be a bit preoccupied tomorrow.

I want to celebrate you and all my other nifty musician friends. Being able to walk around campus with nifty music done by nifty friends always makes me feel less alone.

Love and huggles to you all.

And lots right back atcha. I'm sorry I haven't called -- I'll track down your number and give you a buzz in the next day or two.

I'd like to celebrate [livejournal.com profile] talandra, who suffered from a stroke or three back in late July and has been hospitalized in various ICUs at Mass General since. Her wife, [livejournal.com profile] jetshade, has been posting regular and detailed updates in her own LJ. They're on a hell of a rollercoaster I'd like to think I'm good enough not to wish on my worst enemy, so if anyone has any good thoughts or prayers to spare, send 'em along to T.

Check tomorrow's date. Americans will at least be preoccupied.

Not all of us. Some of us are going to be steadfastly ignoring the exploitation. I will not be turning on a live television or radio feed tomorrow, that's for sure.

Well, obviously

My beloved [livejournal.com profile] vaxjedi for being there for me while I'm running on empty, for not running like hell from the insanity that is our life.

For Rand, for continued displays of unexpected kindness. You think I'd expect them by now!

For [livejournal.com profile] fimbrethil for being an inspiration and a source of wisdom. My heart is with you and Bree, always.

As a Jane Austin fangirl I celebrate that, 48 years ago, on this day we were given "The" Mr. Darcy - Colin Firth.

Celebrating...

I am celebrating my young friend Samuel, whose birthday is tomorrow. He didn't ask for his birthday to be a traumatic day for USAns for the rest of all of our lives.

I'd like to celebrate [livejournal.com profile] cindygerb, whose natal anniversary (which is tomorrow) I hope to still be celebrating when this abomination is a footnote in history. Yeah, that means I'll live to be an old man. Good. :)

I'd also like to second the emotion of celebrating you and all the other folks like you whose music both makes sure my ears aren't full of drivel on the bus and makes sure my life isn't full of sadness when there's so much reason for it to be, both personal and political. If it weren't for filk and filkers in my life I'd be having a tough time hanging on... but life is pretty darn fine all things considered.

'sfunny. It's a long way from sucky to good, something you know better than I do at this point.... but these wacky folk we are and surround us with somehow make the distance seem real damn short.

I'm celebrating someone to come. I'm bipolar, and thought that there was no way I'd be able to have a child due to the meds I take. I met with a perinatal psychiatrist who informed me that I was dead wrong, I'm on some of the safest stuff I can be, and with a little reworking of dosages and the like, I'll be on par with any normal American pregnant woman (especially if I go super-health-nut and drop every other chemical out of my diet/intake.)

So, come spring, I'm going to be a mom.

Thank you. :) I'm still somewhere between stunned surprise and excited, with a dash of mildly terrified thrown in. :D

I am celebrating my very young friend M., who completed her first half-year on 9 September. AFAIC she is Miss Insufferable Cuteness 2008.
