Well, there was one unmistakable truth in there.

Since he's been in Washington he's made a lot of people angry.

If there's one good thing about McCain's behavior, it's that more and more people will know that he's a rat bastard.

But but but . . .

Your statement maligns rats!

Trust me, the pet ones are nowhere near as bad as this ad campaign!

Re-posted in my LiveJournal.

You know, it's making things like this clear and obvious that will help (not guarantee, I'm afraid, but help) bend the election away from McCain and his camp. We can only hope, anyway...

I'm going to post that to a forum I'm on where the political discussion tends towards believing McCain. I've kept out of that discussion thus far but ....

What is heppening here is that the GOP can't find any real dirt on Obama, so they're just trying to invent it.

I was at a comedy show the other night, and at one point the comedians started bitching about McCain. They said "show of hands - who here plans to vote for McCain?"

NOBODY raised their hand.

This is the community I live in, and I wouldn't trade it for anything...but at the same time, I don't know how the hell I can HELP.

Working on song . . . thinking . . .

tune: Maggie May (British folk song made popular by Beatles album)

Dirty John McCain
He's messing with your brain
You can't believe a single thing he says
"Inexperience" he's wailin'
Then he picks out Sarah Palin,
That rotten stinking lying John McCain.

Good start. Needs more. Later.

I just have one little problem with this video and I think it's a part where whoever put it together shoots themselves in the foot. When they say 'Obama went to the gym instead of visiting the troops". And then to rebut that distortion they cut to a news anchor saying, "Well that's simply not true." In fact I think that happens a couple of times. It just would have been stronger to me if they would have had more 'factual' evidence, like they did when McCain says Obama thinks Iran is Tiny. They proved that one well, but using news anchors to prove your point just doesn't work for me and kind of seems like Distortion the other way.

Indeed...they cut away so quickly, it really makes you wonder what they were cutting out...like they had to cut it that quickly so what was next would not be heard. Just a editing for pacing, I suppose, but it does shade the vid a bit.

McCain's ad offers no evidence for the assertions. How is it necessary to offer evidence to refute an assertion that was offered without evidence in the first place? An assertion, which, on the face of it, is so general that it could be true of anyone, including McCain. Has McCain ever been to a gym? Are there any troops, anywhere, he hasn't visited?

General rules of logic would indicate the burden of proof is on the individual making the initial unproved assertion. These sorts of assertions are properly met by such denials as "liar, liar, pants on fire."

Did Obama even DO what they're saying he did? At all?

That's the problem with baseless claims - there's no proof it DIDN'T happen. Just the word of a P.O.W. against the word of a Community Organizer (uneven, I know, but let's at least hear out the P.O.W.)

You could claim that last night, at 2:17 AM, John McCain woke up, burglarized a nearby house, stole six newborn kittens, put them in a sack, drowned them in the river while laughing maniacally, and was back in bed by 3. And the only thing McCain could say was "no I didn't" - which is EXACTLY WHAT A KITTY-KILLER WOULD SAY!

Now I'm not saying McCain is a kitty killer. I'm typing it.

A large part of the problem is that the media strikes a pose of "objectivity" and carries it to ridiculous lengths, treating proven truths and blatant lies as simply two alternate points of view.

When this ad was brought up on the View, one of the crew said that if McCain's ad is taken at face value, then one could say "McCain Supports Child Molesters"

That's a slogan worth spreading around.

This race is feeling more like 1960 every day.

If McCain doesn't shave for the debates, I say we check to make sure we haven't fallen into a wormhole.
