What-The-Hell? Con 2009

I've just agreed to be the Guest of Honor at What-The-Hell? Con, Feb. 6-8, 2009 in Greensboro, NC, hosted by The Guilford College Yachting Club. We're talking a big honkin' concert, basically most of Friday night, as well as a panel on Saturday and hanging out in the dealer's room. Anyone likely to be in the area?

Of course! I think we have almost all of them, though we'll definitely check to see if we're missing any.

Oh, I think all of the buildings DO have handicapped access, though it can be hard to find. You'll want to specifically ask the organizers about it. Last year some of the doors that had ramps leading up to them seemed to be locked. And the most obvious way to the dealer's room last year was up the entrance stairs to the registration desk, then down the stairs to the dealer's room, but after my wife went poking at all the doors she found that there were a couple of unlocked doors that led from the ground-level outside to the back of a dealer table -- no stairs at all.

Knowing a professor there, the idea came from realizing that the "Gaming Club" or "Sci-Fi Club" wouldn't look that good on a resume, but the "Yachting Club" could open some doors! Thus, a legend was born.

I'm sorry to hear that...my experience of the place was mixed. Guilford alum, plenty of good memories there, but also the first part of my relationship with my ex-wife. Though I can't blame Greensboro, she's from (and now back in) Seattle.

i found out about this last year when i was looking up places that Jennie Breeden (creator of the Devil's Panties webcomic and the artist for Customers Suck webcomic). i gotta say, i love the con name! (though the club name gave me a bit of a turn for a bit)
i missed last year, but if you are going to be there, i may have to make a special trip from Tennessee!
