Well, everyone knows that as soon as we voted him in, his arch-nemesis Sarah Palin, aka The Ice Queen, retreated to her Alaskan Ice Palace where she controls the weather and wreaks her vengeance upon us ALL!

So, yeah, it's totally his fault. We shoulda voted for the ice queen. ALL HAIL ICE QUEEN!

Incidentally, ever since that walking cartoon vanished into a black hole, I've discovered myself no longer capable of writing jokes that don't revolve around her.

Days like this I am soooooo thankful for central heating, and space heaters and electricity in general, and also weekends that mean I do not have to leave the house and can stay in my warm apartment building and not venture outside for any reason at all.

What I always wanted to know was if Snow Miser and Heat Miser were *misers* wouldn't that mean that they wanted to keep the snow and heat to themselves respectively and leave the opposite to everyone else?

I vote we change his name to Snow Benefactor.

You make sense. I suspect, though, that the writers' intention was that the name indicate "crabby [old] man", so that they didn't have to explain the personalities much to the audience. So yeah, they are generous with what they dispense (and vice versa, could exchange names for accuracy in that regard), but at least we know to watch out for them being grouches.

-4F here and a wind chill of -20. I doubt you want to trade. :)

It looks much worse in the native units -- -16C with a wind chill of -29.

Can't blame Obama here; can I blame Stephen Harper instead? THE EASTERN BASTARDS ARE OFFICIALLY FREEZING IN THE DARK*. OKAY, OKAY, WE GET THE POINT, ENOUGH ALREADY.

well.... we were at -4.5 last night and a wind chill of -30 degrees F.
lowe was -10.4 not including windchill later that night.

You at least were warm. Toasty even at -20. LOL. The sad part? Wasn't really that cold except on my face.

I went out on Lake George yesterday in Bristol WI and got a bit of frostbite/windburn on my face.

-1? Balmy I tell you, balmy. It was -12 when I woke up this morning. Don't know the wind chill. I never pay attention to wind chill cause as long as you're covered up, it really doesn't matter. It has been sunny today which has made it possible to cook up a batch of chili and southwestern tuna with black bean casserole in the solar cooker. Ha ha I say. Air temperature be damned!!!

So, did anyone else hear about the guy who wants to fight global warming by spraying gigatons of water into the atmosphere? Apparently some of his simulations suggest it may be plausible, subject to the limitations on current information regarding upper atmospheric currents.
