Having a fantastic time. I went basically all day yesterday, capping off with my second concert. Fun. I'm packing to shlep off to campus again, hang out there for awhile, and [livejournal.com profile] fractalwolf and her wife are gonna bring me some pulled pork with vinegar sauce. NOM NOM NOM.

We'll see how far I get tonight. I've got what looks like a good alternate route planned -- I-40 west to Knoxville, which is not flat but which is much less flat than West Virginia, and more importantly is known turf that I go through on the I-75 all the time. If I can get back up to Kentucky, so much the better. It's not that it's all that far, but I'll be starting in mid-day and I am somewhat tired.

And how's your weekend been?

how's your weekend been?

Semi-productive. I've been doing chore-ish stuff that I've been postponing, plus assorted paperwork sorting/gathering/organizing.

Most of the chores involve cleaning/scrubbing things with products that use onomatopoeia for names... and I think the fumes are getting to me...

Time to clean the balcony. Especially because I think I hear pigeons...

Definite recommendation for the flat(ter) route; what with all the heavy weather we've been having, I wouldn't trust West-bigod for shoelaces or a stick of gum.

NCDOT sez there's some road construction over around Hickory, and a bit more around Waynesville, but shouldn't give you too much of a problem.

You *might* make Kentucky tonight; if not, there's a Motel 6 and a Cracker Barrel just your side of Knoxville that look like a good stopover point. Might be wise after a long con to shortstop and get up early in the ayem...

Reasonably quiet. So far, I've accomplished a lot of sleeping in, one load of laundry, and running (but not yet emptying) the dishwasher. And that's including Friday in the weekend, since that work-day was 24 minutes long.

So far, so good. Meeting a friend in town for New York Comicon for dinner. (What kind of con is that, anyway? Costumes and comic books, yes, but no filk!)

Spent it hanging out with the WSPA (both charter and auxiliary members) not getting much done. It's been nice.

Ok so far... I am working on the 1st of 4 filk CDs that are releasing by June. (Audio sorted down to what is needed to be worked on and not everything in 5 folders.)

I've been enjoying the fact that the thaw has hit, and even went for a walk today, in the sunshine :)
Still a lot of snow and ice around, but much better.

It's a good weekend. Yesterday, Sharon and I went out with [livejournal.com profile] huskiebear to see Coraline, which we all enjoyed greatly. Last night was my monthly poker game, and I won just over a dollar. Tonight, I'm meeting up with some friends from the cast of Follies to have dinner and see a local production of Evita that another friend is in.

The only downside is that my plans for this afternoon include catching up on balancing my checkbook, and possibly taking a first crack at our taxes. :P

My weekend's been good! Spent yesterday working on my website and playing City of Heores (http://www.cityofheroes.com/), and today I have a game with four of my closest friends (and one whom I only know in the context of this game, but that's okay).

By the bye, pop down to the dealer's room and say hi to Ursula Vernon for me. ;-)

My weekend? Not good. I've come down with my son's cold, so breathing is a major project. And today the main thing on the agenda is attending the funeral of a long-time friend who was run over by a car Thursday.

My weekend has been full of theater and not very much else. We closed our show last night (successful run, performances interrupted by fire alarms *twice* this weekend, arrgh), today we return to strike the set and then that's *done*. So, so looking forward to next weekend, when I have no obligations at all.

If you make it to Kentucky tonight, stop at the Welcome Center and pick up one of those hotel coupon books. Plenty of at least $15 less in room rates at motels in those first few exits in KY. I would recommend the Knight's Inn, as it has all ground floor rooms and you may ask for a spot were the road noise nearby is minimal.

Not actually doing much this weekend, except watching the snow and ice melt, which after the last two weeks in Ohio, is a very pleasant activity. Wait until you see the difference when you pass by Troy OH on your way up on 75...

Carpooled to a SCA thing in Richmond with an old friend yesterday. Trying to get up enough gumption to do some work today.

MOVING. And fixing the new house. Just little stuff mostly, like installing GFCI plug ins--but those plug ins are remarkably stubborn.

I got a lot of little tasks taken care of. The coolest is that I finally got my TVersity media server to talk to my PS3 (stupid firewall). I'm amazed at how well some of these old movie files look on my TV. This part of why I got a PS3 in the first place.

On the upside - I saw two great concerts, and because of that I smiled more and more consistently in 48 hours then I have in the last 2 years. I'd forgotton how much I missed real music.

On the downside - I never did get the nerve to tell HIM that.
