Home from What The Hell? Con

Apart from some travel glitches, all of which can be easily overcome next year (because they want me back), a superb time. Between this and ChattaCon and MidSouthCon a couple of years ago, I'm diggin' this "Southern hospitality" thing. More later. Right now, I have to change clothes, put on a load of wash, run a few errands, and then lapse into a coma.

Glad you made it back safely. The weather is warm here. Most of the snow is gone. All that's left are shrinking piles from shoveling. It's another dull day of work here.

So far, so good. I just opened the Poetry Fishbowl a few minutes ago and I'm waiting for the first prompts to come in. Today I'm writing about "romance, science and love" -- this will give my audience a chance for some Valentine's Day preparation. Production Edit's been down all day (since 8pm last night, really), and nobody seems to have any clue why, including the vendor. I've had to run across campus to get files off a(n infected, off-the-network) server as part of troubleshooting things. Meanwhile, the customer's senior management is trying to throw me under the bus, and the ongoing clusterfsck of the repeated outages means it's back to daily status meetings, starting tomorrow at 9am. Whee.

It's snowing, I think. And I'm soon going to have to spend hours in basements of buildings on campus, which means no staring out the window watching the snow fall.

I'm also attempting to make my hands smell less like garlic. It's not really working.

Wild Mercy's guesting at MidSouthCon and I'm excited about getting to go to Memphis! Not only do I get a nice Southern weekend, but it's only about 90 miles from my hometown, so my parents are finally going to get to see us play! :-)
