You may recall my song "Redneck Ninjas" (which will soon be a freebie, and also on a new album, hee hee). Well, I've been in communication with a guy named Drew Bates, who's also got some Redneck Ninjas. He's trying to sell an animated series on the concept, and I wish him luck. He's even got some T-Shirts for sale, if you're interested, with a portion of the proceeds going to therapy for quadriplegics. He's also got a short animated film, some poetry, all kindsa stuff.

Date: 2009-02-12 07:28 pm (UTC)The title character is a C-list superheroine with an undependable super-suit that leaves almost nothing to the imagination. So undependable that she often finds herself striped, hogtied, and YouTubed. This makes her something of a joke in the caped community, despite the fact that she has more heart and brains than most of her peers.
Her boyfriend, Thugboy, used to scam super-villains as part of the "Witless Minions". He apparently was part of some disastrous capekilling conspiracy in San Antonio, but details are sketchy. They have the sweetest, most romantic relationship I've ever seen in a hero comic.
Her best friend is the hard-drinking Ninjette, white-girl ninja from New Jersey. On the run from her NJ ninja clan because they want to haul her back home and make her a ninja-baby factory.
And then there is the "Caged Demonwolf", eldritch starspawn imprisoned inside power-draining alien bondage gear. Imagine Jack Black as a cosmic class super-villain trapped in something on your coffee table.

Date: 2009-02-14 05:24 am (UTC)I particularly recommend: 'The Good the Bad and the Ugly', 'Shaft', 'Smells like Teen Spirit', 'Orange Blossom Special', 'You Don't Bring Me Flowers', 'Fly off the Handel', and 'Life on Mars'.
I like the sight gags in their performance (especially in orange blossom and you don't bring me), and the ones where they blend several disparate songs at the same time (fly off the handel and life on mars).
