Big day if you're into High School Musical. Apart from that, the things I have some interest in are Bill Maher's Religilous; Changeling, directed by Eastwood, written by JMS, starring Jolie; and a direct-to-video of Clive Barker's The Midnight Meat Train, starring Brooke Shields, Ted Raimi, and Vinnie (I'm The Juggernaut Bitch) Jones.

Any other new vid we should know about?

Dead Like Me direct to DVD sequel movie.

Not sure what I feel about that one, but I'll still get it, and I believe mostly enjoy it.

MIdnight Meat Train was released in theatres, I'm fairly certain, but didn't stay long. I know people who saw it months ago. I just haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

Angelina Jolie.... doing something written by JMS... ok my brain just melted from the pure sacriliciousness of imagining Jolie being cast as Ivanova (Claudia, wherever you are, forgive me!!!). What do I do now, man? WHAT THE HELL DO I DO NOW?!

(accepts nomination for over-the-top performance)

I was planning on ordering Religilous tonight. I saw it in the theater. It was good as a documentary. It asked a lot of important questions. But the main reason why I'm buying it is to support the message of the movie. (And maybe show that there's interest in a sequel.)

Maybe not technically "new" since it's been out on DVD since late January, but "Repo! The Genetic Opera" is pretty damn good. You may already know that. But I gotta shamelessly plug it.

You can go here (http://www.notyourparentsopera.com) to sample the soundtrack.

it amuses me that I read this comment seconds after I started watching Repo.

My three year old son loves the Repo soundtrack. His favorite is Zydrate Anatomy.
I'm either raising them right or doing something horribly, horribly wrong.
And I'll admit I liked R:TGO...Anthony Stewart Head as the Repo Man? Can't go wrong.

Not entirely sure which song is my favorite. There are so many ^__^

And yes, Anthony makes a wonderful Repo Man.

Actually, Midnight Meat Train did get a theatrical release. The studio was so hell bent on not letting it succeed they sent it straight to the dollar theaters. Pretty much the story was that Lionsgate was changing hands, and the new studio head was intent on getting away from horror films.

Nope. I don't see anything I really want from now until late March when Quantum of Solace and Bolt come out. Religilous looks interesting, but Maher tends to overwhelm me with the smug until I want to smack him even when I do agree with him.

FULLY AWESOME!

Ahem. Sorry. I, too, am waiting for Bolt.

Heh. I haven't even seen a preview for Bolt. I'm basing my desire to see it purely on word of mouth.

It'll be nice to see a Pixar film without dealing with shrieking brats running up and down the aisle while their foul-mouthed broodsows yap at full volume into their cells and cuss ME out for shushing them. (Gosh, how come I don't go to see first-run films in the theater any more?)

I don't watch much Maher so I can't comment about the smug thing. But I do recommend Religious. I enjoyed it. There are some funny parts too. Like when he talks with a priest of a pot-smoking religion in Amsterdam and the guy's hair catches on fire. And the guy barely notices!

Remember kids, drugs don't bring you closer to God. They make you stupid.

Not a video, but lots of shiny to see: Galaxy Zoo 2 -- the successor to the original Galaxy Zoo citizen-science classification site -- lauched today at http://www.galaxyzoo.org. Look at galaxies! Classify them in several ways! Play "Galaxy Wars" (no joke, though not as exciting as it sounds)! Enjoy!! :-D
