Planet-eating metal-clad flying stingrays that generate wormholes by flying round and round in circles really, really fast ?!?

Nice to see that BBC special effects haven't cut back on the special candy then! Nice touch with the bus though!

I thought it was a bit too much like Midnight for my own taste.
Midnight was Midnight. And I think they should have done something different.
It felt too much like a 10-minute story stretched into an hour.

Your song is still ending... woooo spooky. :D

I can't wait until the next episode.

Ooh. I didn't know that was coming out this weekend. Thanks for the heads up. Now I need to remote into my home machine and kick off a torrent to watch when I get home tomorrow.

Loved the psychic lady, the UNIT captain in charge and Malcolm. A fun episode, but not Russell Davies' best

Haven't seen it yet, might be ages (and no, that is not a complaint about spoilers, just a statement of fact), good to hear it looks good.

Fun. That's really the word for it. A nice adventure, standing alone. Perfect for this three-months-between schedule.

You're right about the supporting cast. Well done.

And a nice hook to the coming regeneration.

For a moment I was hoping the UNIT captain would turn out to be Brigadier Winnie Bambara.

First comment: during the opening teaser scene, I had the Pink Panther theme running through my head. That was exactly how The Phantom stole the Pink Panther diamond at the start of the second movie :-)

Good episode, not what I expected, and thankfully the one spoiler I heard was wrong. Nice to see aliens who are being cautious without being the villains (the two crewmen from the crashed spaceship). And nice to see a threat that was not Daleks or Cybermen. I think both have become over used since the series restarted. Let them rest for a few years.

The escape at the end makes me wonder if that character will make a return appearance, if not in Dr Who then in Torchwood.

Oh, and nice, ominous warning at the very end for something we know is coming up but not how it will happen. I am begining to think that the Cybermen-forced regeneration revealed during the last Xma's episode is NOT the 10th to 11th change-over, but 11th to 12th, or even 12th to 13th. Given the actor revealed to be 11th is younger than Tennant, and River Song's said in Silence in the Library that her Doctor is older than Tennant, River may not be the 11th Doctor's companion but the 12th's instead.

Actually, the 11th Doctor will be older than the Tenth, no matter that he looks mid-twenties...

All in all, a fun episode - and Malcolm was great - but I agree with the earlier comment that it's not one of RTD's better ones. I enjoyed 'The Next Doctor' much more. Maybe this one will grow on me more when I watch it with the family tomorrow.

'November-ish' can't come soon enough, but I'm really looking forward to the last two (Xmas/New Years) specials.

at least Michelle Ryan LOOKED like she was having more fun than she did on the Bionic Woman.

I could have sworn I heard the cloister bell when that lady said 4 knocks!

some have said that when 9 absorbed the TARDIS' energies, it reset his regen count.

the confidential helped explain some of what was going on.

but yeah, not the greatest ep evar ... until the very end with that warning.

Novemberish can NOT come soon enough.

First impression? David Tennant can fake his way through a glottal-stop if he has to. Public employees (particularly DMV ones) are oblivious the world over (bus drivers who don't pull over with 3 police cars behind them?), and police car security in England still hasn't caught up to not letting the rear door be opened from the inside. Very fun episode!

Very, VERY cool.

....really? Struck me as the Doctor Who crew wanking off. Oh, and playing with stereotypes. And making up to the monarchy for the werewolf thing now that Russell is leaving. And glorifying a spoiled, selfish Poor Little Rich Girl.

*shrug* I was pretty disappointed.

A pretty weak episode over all.. not quite worth the wait.

But a couple of things...

One, Lady Christina was a bit of fun, though perhaps a little Mary Sue for my taste.. but she SOOOO needs to show up on "Torchwood" and meet up with Jack..

Two, CLOISTER BELL!! When the psychic was warning the Doctor and especially all over the preview for the next special. A Seriously Creepy blast from the past.
