This couldn't have hit me last week and have a chance to go viral, no no no no no. And it's me playing guitar, because I was trying to make a quick video, and the capture program kept crashing. ('Sokay. The capture file was EIGHT GIGS. Oh, yeah, that would've saved this month....)

Cute! Too bad you couldn't get a real C&W backup arrangement, though.

Oh, I can -- I just wanted to get it out today, and I started too late and messed with video capture too long. I might re-record it this evening.

Hm... Y'know the lyrics scan pretty well to "All I Gotta Do Is Act Naturally".

That was the impetus for writing the song. I tried very hard to change the melody, and add a different structured bridge.

*snerk* Yah, this would have been great a week ago. 20-20 hindsight and all that. Bring it back again next year, if that nonsense manages to survive.

There are a few differences in the lyrics as sung versus what you posted on iTom. The most substantial change was where you wrote, "the highest-income ten percent", but you sang, "the highest-income one percent."

Good song, but I'd like to hear one - maybe I need to write one - focusing on the Teabag Terror angle.

Right wing conservative terror is a real threat, and monkey warfare like sending anonymous suspicious envelopes can turn into guerilla warfare quite easily.

First step might be to stop TV news channels that incite their viewers to become involved in terrorist activity.

And YEA for Al Franken!

This will prove difficult until you get the people who OWN those stations out of the pockets of the people who want them to incite revolution.

The tactic was used, somewhat unsuccessfully, in the Chicago 7 (or 8, if you prefer) trial. It would be nice to turn it around and use it against the other side, but yes, not very likely, because we're more polite than they are.

Personally, I think the entire right wing is guilty of treason. Massive treason.

And oh, by the way, I finished my song.

I'm a Teabag Terrorist

ttto On the Good Ship Lollipop

I'm a teabag terrorist
Better watch out 'cause you're on my list
I'll send you tea
In an envelope anonymously.

It will dangle on a string
Yeah, teabagging, that's my thing
But I may turn green
Should I find out just what teabagging means

I will mail tea to the government
Without any return address
They'll evacuate, oh no,
They'll find out it's a real mess

I'm a teabag terrorist
I will teabag you now with my fist
So, what the hay,
I'm a teabag terrorist

I'm sick about hearing about these tea bag parties. First the original tea bag party was about LOW corporate taxes. Taxes so low it undercut the competitors. And it wasn't even really about that, just how people couldn't vote on the taxes. These clowns today have no idea what they're protesting. They're blaming Obama for Bush's tax rates. That's right folks, you're being taxed on money you made last year, BEFORE Obama took office. If liberals held a tea bag party to protest how Bush was wasting money, the folks at faux news would have no problem calling them America-haters. I'm am so tired of the conservative, "it's only OK when we do it" sense of morality.
